Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Autum Campbell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Autum, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
What did my parents do right? Where do I even begin? My parents created a safe landing space for my sister and I. We grew up in a loving and respectful environment. We knew that we could go to my parents with anything and everything that life threw our way. My parents showed me that hard work pays off every day. If you want something, go for it. Even if it is scary. Take the leap of faith. Make a difference in this world. If you aren’t happy, take matters into your own hands and make the necessary changes.
My dad was my rock and biggest supporter. He battled cancer for 2 years and lost his battle in December of 2016. Walking through his cancer journey alongside him taught me that life is too short and can change in a blink of an eye. If you want something, go for it. If you aren’t happy in your current career, change it. Live life to the fullest and do what makes you happy!
I made my business idea into a reality and I have my parents to thank for shaping me into the woman I am today. I had two of the best role models to look up to and I am so thankful for them!

Autum, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself and your business to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a full time working mama of two small children, free time is almost non existent. Especially when it comes to planning, shopping, and preparing delicious and nutritious meals for my family. I thrive on organization and something I do to keep our ship from sinking on a daily basis is, meal planning. Each week I create a meal menu for my family. I then create my shopping list for everything I need to make the meals on my menu. I also gather my recipes that I will need for the week. This makes the time from daycare pick-up to getting supper on the table a little less chaotic. I do not need to come up with what I am making for supper each night and run to the store last minute. My favorite thing about meal planning is that it saves my family money. When I go to the grocery store or when creating my weekly grocery order for pick up, I know exactly what I need. Have you ever went to the grocery store, dropped $100 like it’s hot, but you actually didn’t buy anything to make actual balanced meals for your family? Weekly meal planning eliminates this problem. One day, it dawned on me. Why don’t I create my own business based off of a time consuming task I do for my family every week to help other families get organized. That is how Meals by Mama was born. Meals by Mama is a meal planning business. I create a weekly meal menu for your family (customized options available), create a shopping list for all the items you will need, and I also supply all the recipes you will need to cook said meals. This saves you time and money. Leave the planning and organization to Meals by Mama!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
This year I found myself drowning in my current career. One that I dreamt of being since I was in Kindergarten and a few years in, I was struggling. I found myself far from happy with my work life and that started to pour into my home life. Being a wife and mom to small children is hard enough! I decided to put myself out there. I live in a very small town-I am talking not even a street light in the town I live in. I was scared to put myself out there and fail with everyone watching my every move. I decided that my word of the year is “brave” and being “brave” is what I am doing. Making this leap of faith has shown my resilience in growing my business as I try to grow my reach to those outside of the community I live in.
