Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Austin Wilson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Austin , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I would like to say that we are happy as artists. We haven’t necessarily taken this project to the level that we would like to see it. By any means, it does not pay the bills. We have families, and mortgages. It’s very important to find the balance between the day job, and doing what we do.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I feel like i can speak for the 4 of us with this one. Ever since we were kids, Music has always been our escape. It just made sense for us to pursue this. We’re not doing this for anyone but ourselves. We have a long road ahead of us, but given the opportunity, we would take this as far as it would let us.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, it’s all about the live show. There’s a certain feeling that I get, just before you step onto a stage. Big or Small, it’s like a “fight or flight” moment. I think if i ever didn’t have that feeling. I wouldn’t do it anymore.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Sure. People who haven’t found their passion in life. may look at what we do as artists and go “why do you do this?” Even when there doesn’t seem like there’s a big “pay-off” at the end. Why would someone want to put All of their spare time, money and effort into being an artist, especially these days? It’s because we have to. That’s just what makes us tick. That’s what we would do, Even if no one ever heard any of it.
