Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Atalanta Moonfire. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Atalanta, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

Osteomancy is a very esoteric form of divination. Although it is a type of divination practice through every culture all over the world, not many people have heard of it or practiced it. It is usually passed down through families or tribes. My goal is to get
it out there in the public and become as popular and well known as tarot or any other form of divination. I have written the book, “Throwing the Bones Divination for the Modern Practitioner”, in order to do just that. It is an instructional book that teaches
the ancient practice of bone divination, or bone casting as you might know it. It is my goal to leave behind my knowledge as well as the knowledge that has been passed down to me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

Author of the book, “Throwing the Bones Divination for the Modern Practitioner”, I have specialized in divination for over 25 years. I began with using tarot, now focusing on throwing bones or casting bones.

I have practiced eclectic witchcraft for 35+ years, beginning at age 14, practicing since I was 18, finding my true path in my 30’s.

In addition to being in practice of Throwing Bones Divination, I am High Priestess of Sacred Moon Coven, and 1st Degree Priestess of Hecatean witchcraft. I am also a Reiki Master, ordained minister, Spirit Walker, and Rootworker/Hoodoo Practitioner. Presently, I am host and producer of the Everyday Witchcraft series and On the Road With Atalanta show, which airs on Pagan World TV on Roku, Thursday nights, at 8:00 p.m. eastern time.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I woke up one day and decided I was going to write a book. I decided I was going to write a book on bone divination. I have always wanted to write a book and I’ve always loved osteomancy. At the time I was reading bones and teaching small classes on the subject here and there, trying to get this beautiful tradition out into the public. Things started falling into place and even though it was difficult work, it snowballed into the beautiful project that it came to be. The project came to be my main focus. It directed me into becoming who I am today and made the career choice of a complete change. I now am not only an author, but I’m a full time spiritual advisor and teacher of divination. This is the path I was meant to be on. I would have never have known that had I not
decided to take the leap of faith I did that day.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The key to building an audience on social media is to be Hands-On and proactive in communicating with your friends and fans. It is not only important to post events and advertisements on a consistent basis, it is important to post personal messages as well. Promotional pictures are very important but I have found that personal pictures are even more important. Your audience wants to see that you’re a real person and that you really care about what you’re doing. Show what you’re all about! Show that you love what you’re doing and you love your audience!
