We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Lowery recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ashley thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Creating art has always been a passion of mines. I never imagined myself being an entrepreneur. In America , we are trained to be great employees but not business owners. I followed the traditional path of college and finding a “ good job”. I realized in 2020, that life is too short to follow societal norms. I could not risk losing my purpose, trying to fulfill society’s expectations of me. Everything I love creating, I want to pursue it professionally. I started marketing my services on instagram and instantly I received an inquiry for purchasing. My most meaningful project, is believing in myself enough to become a business owner. My first purchase was all the validation I needed to keep going. Every experience after, has also been a blessing to my development.
Ashley, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an artist first and a professional second. Creating works of art through food and photography heals my soul. I helped my family out with their catering business during primary school . Who doesn’t love food ? I made and post on social media and the rest is history. I provide food services of all kinds; Private Dinning ,Meal Prep & Catering. I also provide content creation for my clients, to remember the quality of the LOAE experience.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The Food service industry is very tricky. Certain guidelines and restrictions are required of a professional business. There have been times where I have fallen short, and I felt defeated. It is impossible to be perfect , but striving to provide quality services to all my clients is the goal. We must learn from our mistakes and make sure that history doesn’t repeat itself. Growth is a lifelong process.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
We all know that art is subjective, however it does evoke emotional responses. Being able to provide an individual with positive experiences through art, is a special gift. We must treat it with respect and honor the process. There is so much negative energy that surrounds us, and having an outlet of positivity is a blessing that should be shared.
