Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to AR INKBMBRS. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
AR INKBMBRS, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
It was a big risk! I was working as an automotive technician in 2005-2010 Then the recession hit and they were letting people go. I had already started tattooing around 2006 and started my journey. I realized that the dealership was not gonna give me a raise and put me on my own. So I decided to quit. It all started with me, tattooing, and building clientele texting people that I knew for Tattoo work. And when I quit the dealership, there was no more safety net and I was on my own. The most scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I do not regret it, because I learned more about myself as an artist and grown my skill to a higher level because of it. And now 21 years later, I get to create art for a living and travel the world.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
So I got into the tattoo industry on accident a friend of mine wanted to get tattooed so I went with them to the tattoo shop. Then I started to talk to the owner and we clicked at the same time I was working at Costco and after work, I’m gonna go hang out at the tattoo shop, that’s where I started the journey. Then he began to teach me how to clean up and set up the tattoo equipment properly. Right there, and then I decided this is a sign from the universe. What Sesame apart from other artist is that I use my tattoo skills that I’ve learned and apply them to my paintings And vice versa. Recently, I am most proud, not only the volume of work I’ve done, but how I elevated my skill level and the reactions of people that see my art around the world. So much positivity From people that see my art and brings them joy. And that’s what I’m most proud of. And the next five years, I will grow my brand with not only tattooing and painting, but my clothing brand and how to inspire others in the process. The brand that I started is called INK BMBRS. It started off small and now it’s growing into something else that I couldn’t have dreamed of. I can’t wait to share more Art with the world. I want to create worlds in my paintings and share different dimensions of what I see in my mind.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
And the story I wouldn’t say I pivoted because the business started with only tattooing. Tattooing originally took me places that I can’t imagine that I would ever go. And 2010. I met an artist by the name of Rask Opticon Who admired his graffiti work for years. We became good friends, and he started telling me how we can do art shows and do paintings and murals. That is what I feel as close to the pivot point. It took me to another level of creating that I never thought I would do.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
So the way, I built an audience in growing the name, ink bombers. We decided to create art shows and invite artist from around the neighboring areas by doing this. It helped grow not only our brand but an art community. Helping others grow in the process when we started doing that, everybody would share our flyers and it went all over Facebook and the word spread all over the Los Angeles area. Then we started growing our social media and grew a larger audience And through that giving everybody a unique experience.
