We were lucky to catch up with Anitra Herring-starks recently and have shared our conversation below.

Anitra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

Taking a risk for my business was the best decision I ever made. I quit my 9-5 last year to fully focus on my business. I was beyond nervous & questioned myself many times. Until I realized that the idea wouldn’t have been a thought if it wasn’t for me. God put the idea on my spirit to test my faith and I went with it! Since then I can honestly say I don’t regret my decision at all it gave my business the push it needed!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a 23 year old esthetician that specializes in eyebrow enhancements. Such as brow tiniting and laminations! I am also a content creator I post daily to get closer with my followers and potential clients. I show my personality more especially on social media so people are more comfortable to book with me. I want anybody that comes to me to leave my chair feeling their best self!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

When I first started my Instagram I wasn’t posting as much but at the beginning of 2024 I told myself I would take my content serious. Since I started being consistent I’ve seen a HUGE change. I’ve gained millions of views across my Instagram also gained over 3K in under 2 months. The best advice I could give to someone just starting out on social media is to stay consistent no matter how many views or likes keep going!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn being so hard on myself if I don’t reach a certain goal that I had for myself. When it came to consistent clientele or social media presence. I had to relearn to be patient and realize that everything will happen in God’s timing!
