Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrew Bjorke. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Andrew, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I’d say that this is something I think about daily as an Artist. It can be intimidating to focus fully on art and am going through that now but I hope that my art can take me to that level of reassurance that a weekly paycheck from a job would provide me. I get work as a freelance designer quite often now, but not as often as I’d like compared to a fulltime job. But I think I am finally realizing that I am happy to live as an artist and inspire and prove it to myself that I can do it.

Andrew, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Visual Artist, Graphic Designer, VJ, Painter, 3D Artist. I like to experiment with geometry and pattern. I really love it and have since I was a little kid, they have always fascinated me, something about the balance of them and the symmetry. I taught myself how to draw very complex mandala type of designs combining different shapes together back then and then picked it back up decades later and here we are now and have made a lot of art since I got back into seriously in 2017. I provide merchandise design, digital assets, design services, live vj performances, painting services. I am most proud just of my willingness to put myself out there now. I grew up a very shy type of person and painting in public and at live music events and festivals has really brought me out of my shell. I went to four music festivals alone in 2021 That changed my life for the better and am so grateful for that experience. I’d like potential clients to know that if you work with me you’ll get someone who is very unique, extremely passionate and not like anything else.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I don’t think they understand how much really goes into it. I am one person who does all the creating, all the marketing, all the performing, all the social media, all the everything. That makes me feel like a machine at times and not a human being. I wish I could solely focus on the creating more than anything, but I know if you want to do this as a career you can’t do one without the other, true yin yang mindset.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I don’t have any personal experience with them, I know people who have sold some and I just don’t really understand the whole crypto thing, so I’ve stayed away but if it works for some people than props to them.
