We were lucky to catch up with Andreina Haiek recently and have shared our conversation below.
Andreina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a customer success story with us?
I had the pleasure of working with a family whose 9-year-old daughter was transitioning from sharing her parents’ room to having her own. The existing space was disorganized, lacked personal touches, and did not reflect her preferences. The parents wanted to create a beautiful, functional room that would inspire their daughter to embrace her new space. They envisioned a room that was cozy, peaceful, and filled with colors she loved—particularly purple. Additionally, they wanted to include essential elements such as a desk for homework and a vanity for her accessories. However, they were unsure where to start.
To address their needs, I employed a five-step process designed to ensure clarity and comfort for my clients:
Initial In-Home Consultation: I visited their home to assess the room and discuss their goals, expectations, and requirements. We explored styles, colors, budget considerations, and timeframes. I took measurements and discussed potential furniture options to align with their vision.
Proposal: A few days later, I presented a mood board that outlined a proposal for the room. The design featured a charming blend of white, cream, and purple, incorporating all their requirements. I included functional solutions for organizing her books, accessories, and toys, all within the proposed budget.
Approval and Purchase: Once the proposal was approved, I proceeded with purchasing the selected items.
Installation and Final Reveal (this step takes several days to complete): The final step involved the installation of the new furnishings and decor, painting of the room, installation of new window treatments, new ceiling lamp and hardware culminating in a reveal that showcased the transformed space.
The parents felt confident in my guidance and trusted me with their project. Their daughter was absolutely delighted with her new room, to the point where she now prefers to spend all her time there. The project was not only successful in meeting their practical needs but also in creating a space that brought joy and satisfaction to their daughter.

Andreina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My love for interior design comes from a lifelong interest for creativity and organization that I didn’t fully appreciate until the pandemic opened my eyes. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, I spent over 15+ years working in business administration after getting my degree. But when the world went on lockdown in 2020, I found myself, like so many others, looking for new hobbies and activities as I stayed home.
Many started to read new books, took online courses, watched TV shows or tried new recipes, just to name a few. For me, an untapped passion for residential design and organization began to take shape. I realized that the drive to make spaces both beautiful and functional was something that had been inside me all along. As a child, I had an innate sense of style and eye for design that I now recognized as a natural talent that could be sculpted into a career.
With renewed purpose, I immersed myself in studying interior design principles while planning my entrepreneurial path. Last year, my dream took form when I proudly launched my design studio “Haiek Interior Design and Organization” here in South Florida, where I’ve called home for the past 2 years.
My studio’s name embodies the dual nature of my work and life’s philosophy: cultivating spaces that are as organized as they are stylish. Making positive changes into people’s life through my work it’s a personal and professional satisfaction that drives my entrepreneurial spirit every single day.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first launched my Instagram account, I started from scratch with zero followers. To kick things off, I reached out to friends and family, asking them to support my new business by following me. I also used my existing personal accounts on Facebook and Instagram to announce my new venture and share details about my services, encouraging my network to spread the word.
Having a web page, even though it is not a social media platform it is a vital component of your overall digital strategy. It complements your social media presence by providing a central place where your audience can engage more deeply with your content and learn more about your business. So it’s also important to have one.
Attending networking events was another effective strategy. By sharing my new business with everyone I met, I was able to build connections and attract new followers and potential clients.
In terms of content, I focus on showcasing my unique design style through high-quality photos and videos. Engaging promptly with comments and messages, and interacting with other accounts in the design community, helps me build a supportive network and encourages more engagement. I also use relevant hashtags to increase visibility and post regularly, including stories and valuable content like design tips and before-and-after transformations. Incorporating trending audio and content keeps my posts fresh and interesting.
Building an audience is a gradual process, and even after a year, I’m still slowly growing. While some may find it quicker, I believe that with a genuine approach and a touch of creativity, the follower count will steadily rise. Sometimes, the growth happens when we least expect it. I believe consistency is the key so I’ll keep on working on mine.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Leaving my corporate career to start my own interior design business as a Venezuelan immigrant in South Florida was an incredibly brave decision full of challenges, it was a big pivot in my personal life and in my career. Even though I speak both languages, working to gain respect in an English-speaking industry added extra pressure. Walking away from a stable job after over 15 years for the uncertainties of freelancing was overwhelming.
On top of the professional obstacles, I was also raising a family and adjusting to a new culture after our recent move. Dealing with so many major life changes at once was an anxious situation.
But I’m determined to overcome every obstacle to pursue my true passion for interior design. The fears of failure are always present, but I’ve embraced the anxiety as the price for doing work I absolutely love. With an optimistic attitude, I’ve persevered and overcome the feelings of self-doubt.
Being an entrepreneur and a mom is a hard work – I have to manage many different tasks, manage my time, deal with an unstable income, and constantly market myself. It takes a lot of strength. But after years of holding back my creative side, I now embrace the daily challenges of running my own business. Because I’ve finally found the courage to do work that truly fulfills me and aligns with who I am. Having success is a challenge, but I think it is determined by our mindsets and believing in who we are, trusting in our own potential. “Do what you love, love what you do” is a phrase that I read many years ago and that have pushed me to be here where I am now.
