Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to ANDRE WRIGHT. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
ANDRE, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Well, having worked for a Google-affiliated firm for many years focusing on helping small businesses grow with digital marketing, I was in love with the process, and got so excited when strategising with clients, when they gain competitive advantage or close a big sale because of our efforts. Further, I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and always dreamt of owning my own company. Then the opportunity came up in 2015 when my family and I decided to move to Atlanta. With my vast experience leading digital marketing teams, it was the perfect next step to start TWC. Further, by working with organizations in various industries, it was also evident that there was an opportunity for businesses to scale effectively using digital marketing systems. But the decision was very tough to leave corporate opportunities where the salary is sure to go into the unknown of business ownership. But after long discussions with my family, I decided at that point that this is the right time to make the dream a reality.
It was not easy in the first year of TWC, I had to realize quickly that everyone is not just going to run to my doors, but it is a process and a daily grind. I remember making a tonne of sales calls and no one was responding in the first few months, and this resulted in my questioning myself and decision. But I had to be cheering myself on and telling myself that it is all going to be ok. But the joy returned when I signed my first contract with a Tutoring company – I was so excited that I charged way below the market rate and was determined to prove my self to them, which we ended up improved their visibility and had strong growth.
To this day, there are a lot of challenges, but there are also tonnes of opportunity – and I am passionate about moving TWC with our Patientbuz program to being one of the premier digital agency in the world.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I remember when starting out in this business with little or no funding, just my passion to succeed and a vision that’s bigger than myself, to build an organization so I can help the unfortunate in Jamaica and across the world. Most people believed I was crazy when I launched this business, I was very successful in my cooperate roles and had a level of stability. However, even when they are times when I had nothing much coming in, I continued to persevere and focused squarely on attaining my goal.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
So when I started out TWC, I was serving all different types of industries, from plumbers to roofers to auto dealerships. However, in 2020 I decided to launch our Patientbuz program and placed a strong focus on serving healthcare. Focusing mainly on this vertical helped us to be more focused and more intentional in our growth be known in this space. At this moment 70% of our customer base is in healthcare and we want to move this closer to 100% in the near future.
