We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anderson Daniels. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anderson below.
Hi Anderson, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
At the time I was still in college. I spent my senior year playing bars and clubs all over the Midwest. During the week I would go to class Monday-Thursday, and then Thursday night I would take off to play shows throughout the entire weekend in Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
Since I was able to keep myself afloat financially through this time by just playing shows alone, I figured I would give it a shot professionally when I graduated in the spring, instead of taking a full time job out of school.
It was about the same time that I had recorded my first EP and put it out a few days before I graduated and got my degree.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Anderson Daniels and I’m a Country Artist originally from Champlin, Minnesota. I got into writing and performing music when I was in college at St. Cloud State University. What started out as open mics and bars, quickly has grown into touring and opening up for some of my country music hero’s.
I’m proud to be putting my region on the map in country music. Proud to bring a Midwestern sound to Nashville, and think outside the box. All I’ve ever wanted to do in country music is represent a lifestyle of people I grew up around, and I am proud of that pursuit!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
About a year ago, I was having significant burnout in my career. I felt like I was constantly pushing on the gas pedal and my brain and body didn’t have anything left in the tank. This started a string of anxiety that left me with some real reflecting to do.
Since taking some time to step back and think about what really makes me happy I took a pivot in my career on what exactly I was chasing. I looked into who I was as an artist and what my brand stood for. I’m in this to be happy with my career choice, and I think a big part of that is getting behind what you are most passionate about.
So I transitioned by thought process to what actually mattered and since then I have seen massive results.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Treating someone who is on a smaller scale the same way you would treat a large company. As long as the quality is up to the same standards, the way you look at someone’s company/brand should have the same respect.
