We recently connected with Amy Miller and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Ever since I began paying closer attention to my personal health in 2017 so many risks have been taken! I never imagined I would be where I am today. However, with that being said, my thoughts have switched to become stronger in what I know is possible.
Let’s rewind a little bit. The first major risk that set me on this transformational journey was the decision to stop drinking. The crazy thing about this decision was not even due to thinking of my health. I was simply so fed up and sick of making excuses. Hitting snooze multiple times in the a.m. (because I could) was a daily thing. Money seemed non-existent, as I just never had extra for anything. My life just started to feel boring. And I was feeling stuck. Almost as if I was missing out. And I was. The main important thing I was missing out on was living and enjoying life itself!
So, on September 3, 2017, I took the risk and decision to just stop drinking. I did not have a date or limit set of when or how long I was going to try this new habit. I just knew I had to switch what I was doing. This also allowed me to just take one day at a time. And I still have this thought process. Because of this huge shift of actions I had to get my mind on other things.
At the time Hurricane Harvey had just hit Houston, Texas. In the days following I was driving around and saw these Houston Strong shirts everywhere. I pulled up into this church and asked some random person, Hey, what do these shirts mean? They told me how they were all volunteers coming together to help anyone who needs help from the hurricane damages. Literally, right then I asked, “how do I sign up?”
That volunteer experience lasted about 3 weeks. I learned how important it is to help others and be there for your community. What I also learned is having a purpose helps conquer so much! Showing up for myself allowed me to show up for others! That was such a huge lesson. This lesson propelled me forward in to continuing to be present for others. Connecting the fact that having a clear mind and a better functioning body provides more success in life has been a huge key factor! The way I was living was on the road toward suffering even more pain, more bills, and more medication. Taking care of myself and my body as a proactive step now helps tremendously for quicker recovery when something does turn in a way that is less fortunate. This way of thinking and acting is where I like to stay compared to the reactive way I had been living.
As of the present day, I am still completely sober and have all the intentions to stay this way for the future. Looking back at what I was putting into my body and daily intaking were causing major stressors that were unnecessary for my body, health, and clarity of life. Due to being over the fact of making excuses, that gigantic risk of paying closer attention to how I was treating my health and wellness has paid off completely. The opportunities I have come across in these past few years would not have happened if I would have continued to just sleep the day and/or sleep the hangovers away.
Currently, I am available to help others upgrade their lifestyle with what they intake daily. Not only am I helping people and families become healthier; I am able to set them up with opportunities for better income and better wellness all around! So, to say that risk of beginning the journey of becoming sober was a great thing is an understatement! It changed my life to live in the best possible timeline I am experiencing now!
Amy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hey there, Amy over here! It has been quite the journey to switch my lifestyle from struggling and barely making it to becoming prosperous and enjoying helping others! I was able to get where I am today by paying closer attention to what I was taking in and consuming daily. (From water and food to sights and experiences.) I have worked hard at creating little daily changes into healthier and wealthier habits I am proud of!
Currently, I am in a position to help others by giving solutions and guidance to fulfill a healthier and wealthier lifestyle. Are you looking to switch a few things with your eating habits? Maybe you are looking to change the water and/or beverages you consume. Are you interested in learning more regarding living a cleaner lifestyle? Maybe you’re trying to find ways on how to live with less chemicals around your household. How about looking to enjoy an extra stream of income to treat yourself more often? Does this sound good? There are multiple solutions to share and available for you! That’s why I am here! To present these solutions to you and your family!
The approach I take, and what is different than most, is giving you the space and allowing you to reach out to me whenever you are ready! Change can be difficult and investing in yourself can be a challenge. But, when these two things are combined for the greatest good it is well worth it! Get over those excuses and know that I am here to help you along the way. We are all living our lives on different paths and not everyone is in love with the salesperson vibe in their face all the time. When the timing is right for you, you will take action. Here is one simple fact: The sooner you quit hesitating and start pushing excuses aside you will actually see and hear solutions to your problems. Once you do this, the quicker you will be to move forward on the road toward your many successes! It is available for you to take that action at any moment!
All of us can benefit from sharing information with one another. No matter if you are ready to show up for yourself today, tomorrow, or in a year from now, we can always share and connect others with the people who need us most. Maybe you know a family member or close friend who is ready to move their life away from chemicals and medications or even looking for ideas on how to work from home? This industry of health and wellness has options and potential to change where you, your family, and your friends are this very moment! I am extremely happy to be in the position to see others succeed and super excited for the moment you will be enjoying this happiness as well! Reach out with questions and let’s grow!
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Literally, being able to listen is what I have found to be most helpful. To be open and willing to hear what other people’s needs are is key to helping them in the first place.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Finding a different stream of income during this extreme life-changing pandemic has been difficult for some. This has been a pivot in business and has helped me focus on helping others. When everyone was switching to computer-based meetings and being away from the interaction with people daily, I was happy to provide and currently still able to provide possibilities and opportunities for many families! The position I have helps me lead others toward the possibility of creating their own businesses as well as a lifestyle filled with healthier/cleaner options and their own personal growth.
