We were lucky to catch up with Amir Eid recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amir, thanks for joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
After completing my Masters in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Miami, I had a clear vision for my future. I had created a detailed plan called Miami Fitness Factory, but unfortunately, I lacked the financial resources to turn it into a reality. Additionally, fear of failure held me back from pursuing my dreams.
However, one day, a Lebanese sports figure approached me with an opportunity that seemed too good to be true. He offered me a high-paying job to lead his fitness facilities, which would enable me to pay off my education loan and support my family. It was a dream come true, and I eagerly accepted the offer.
After months of negotiations, the agreement was nearly finalized, but on the last day before signing, the sports figure abruptly cut my package in half. I was devastated as I realized that this offer would force me to give up on my dream of Miami Fitness Factory. Despite the financial pressure, I refused the offer because I knew that I could not compromise on my values and vision.
The sports figure was infuriated with my refusal and belittled me with his words, saying that I would never achieve anything beyond a garage gym. However, instead of being defeated, his words became my driving force. The very next day, I went to the bank and applied for a loan, despite already being in debt from my education loan. I decided to take a risk and start Miami Fitness Factory.
The journey was not easy, but my perseverance and determination paid off. Miami Fitness Factory has become the future of fitness in Lebanon, and its success has been phenomenal. I am proud of my decision to take a risk and follow my dream, and it has shown me that the power to create opportunities lies within oneself.

Amir, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce company to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At Miami Fitness Factory, we specialize in two departments – performance-based training and educational coaching. Our performance team is dedicated to enhancing the performance of elite athletes and preventing injuries. As part of our educational department, our goal is to set high standards and raise the bar in the fitness industry. We have successfully coached and graduated more than 3,500 students across the region as personal trainers and strength and conditioning coaches. Our passion for what we do makes it feel like we never have a job, only fun and excitement!
Any advice for managing a team?
I view my team at Miami Fitness Factory as more than just colleagues; they are family. I prioritize their success above any personal gain, and I firmly believe that their success is also mine. From day one, I have instilled in my team the importance of shared values and successes. It’s a culture we have built together, and it is rooted in my personal ethics and principles.
One of the most critical aspects of managing my team is ensuring that each employee knows their exact role within the organization. When roles are not clarified, problems can quickly arise, and expectations may not be met. Therefore, I make it a priority to communicate clearly and often to ensure everyone knows what is expected of them.
Clarifying roles and expectations drastically improves the management of expectations, which is crucial for the success of any team. When employees know precisely what their role is, and they deliver on it, they are more satisfied and motivated, knowing what they did and what to expect.
Managing people is always challenging, but it adds an exciting element to any work setting. Ultimately, by putting my team first, we have created a culture of trust and respect, which has led to our success as a team.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Previously, I used to trust people very quickly and have a strong belief in young individuals even faster. However, I have come to realize that patience is key and that trust needs to be earned rather than given easily. As a business owner with many team members at Miami Fitness Factory, building trust is not as easy as it was before. However, when an employee earns my trust, the sky’s the limit for them in terms of growth and opportunity within the company.
