Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amber Kobel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amber, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Pursuing a creative path is something ingrained in my psyche. It was something that I began to uncover as I grew into adulthood. Since childhood, I found myself wondering in creative spaces. Unlike my peers, I never outgrew those feelings and inspirations. Nothing has ever captured my excitement or interest except for creative pursuits. The written word, fashion, movies, video games and all measure of lines and color upon paper.

Amber, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a fine artist whose creative path began in web design and later expanded into modeling. Drawing was always something of a hobby, inspired by things around me, music being my greatest inspiration. Initially, my drawings were very simple and done in pencil. As my skill advanced, I started moving into charcoal and that led into acrylic, watercolor and gouache. I find myself at home in the realm of realism. It is a test to myself of skill and accuracy. At the same time, I like to keep things imaginative and so I do quite a bit of whimsy with splashes of color.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
There are a couple of aspects that I really love about being an artist.
The first one is being able to create something that I feel in my heart and in my bones and setting it forth into the world. That act of translating an internal experience into a tangible piece of art is incredibly fulfilling.
The second would be connecting with others. Selling an original is wonderful, no doubt. But, connecting through prints has been such a great feeling. Knowing that many people can have my artwork inside their homes and in their lives is a truly wonderful feeling. Listening to their stories and seeing how they resonate and connect to a piece can be so different from person to person and that really fuels me to continue my creativity. It is truly inspiring.
I’ve been selling my art on Etsy for over 14 years, as well as through my personal website, where I offer exclusive giclée and canvas prints. That ongoing connection with collectors and viewers has become one of the most inspiring parts of my creative journey.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to leave something beautiful behind. I want my work resonates within people’s hearts and homes, offering a sense of comfort, peace, or creative inspiration. If someone can find a moment of calm or connection through my artwork, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
