Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ali Novitsky. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ali, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you recount a time when the advice you provided to a client was really spot on? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
The best advice I can give is that Less is More. As humans, we get caught up in an All-Or-None Mentality. This causes us to set unrealistic expectations that we can’t actually meet. Sticking with small, attainable goals will give us confidence and power to keep moving forward. Instead of regretting something we did or didn’t do, we only ever have to make the next best decision. Optimal health is created when we stack many next best decisions on top of each other. Many of my clients come to me because they do not enjoy exercise. One client in particular was unable to stay consistent until she was given permission to only workout for 10-minutes. When she saw the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of working out in a minimal amount of time, she started to enjoy exercise. 5-years later she now defines herself as someone who LOVES exercise. She has improved all aspects of her health all because she was willing to do less. After all, less is more.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a triple board certified physician in the specialties of Obesity Medicine, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care. In 2018, I left full time clinical practice to start my own company, The FIT Collective, which helps Women Physicians to optimize their mental, emotional, and physical health. Our programs are some of the most comprehensive out there in that we target not only physical health but also mental, emotional, and energetic. Our principles are rooted in whole person health and are backed by science. Our programming is different because of the coaching, community, and support system that we offer. Not to mention, we offer continuing medical education credits for participation in our Transform® program. Transform® is our 6-month coaching program that we offer to women physicians which includes everything from exercise programming, nutrition customization, coaching, community, content, and so much more. We are most proud of the impact that we have had on medicine. By helping physicians to become optimally healthy, they are able to lead their patients by example which ultimately will help to create maximum health impact in our society. In 2023, we created our program, Fit Woman Collective (FWC) which is open to all high performing women not only physicians. We identify as a comprehensive preventative health coaching company led by physicians who specialize in mental, emotional, and physical health for women.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I am proud to say our company runs on word of mouth referrals, in-person meetings, and retention. It is important to us that we continue to overdeliver and up level our programming for all of our members. We also spend a lot of time developing relationships with our clients. And, because providing excellence and being readily available to our clients are some of our core values, our people feel safe, they feel seen, and they become active participants in our community. Our reputation also comes from the way that we lead our programming. We have signature Mind=Body workouts that provide a level of emotional regulation that allows a more significant change in our limiting thought patterns. We target mental, emotional, physical, and energetic health in all of our programming which allows us to be different than other coaching programs. We also host small group retreats each year which is a way for us to give back to our community and foster a greater sense of community.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
I would absolutely follow the same path of choosing to become a physician and then becoming an entrepreneur. I grew up in a small town where my dad is a physicians. His office was in our home. I knew that I wanted to be a healer. Everything that I learned in medical training, residency, and then fellowship training allowed me to know my future clients so that I could serve them best. As a woman physician, I understand the struggles, and I also knew exactly what I wish I had when I was practicing full time clinical medicine. This knowledge has allowed me to create life changing programs for women physicians because I understand what we need. I have also been able to use my knowledge as a board certified obesity medicine specialist to help my clients even further. I am honored to be a physician, a healer, and I have found my calling in the space of healing the healers.
