We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alessio Filippelli a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alessio, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
I, Alessio Filippelli, born on February 7, 1999, am a 25-year-old Italian-born talent agent, manager, and creative director. I’ve taken the entertainment industry by storm with my innovative ideas and relentless drive to revolutionize the business. At just 25, I’ve had the opportunity to work with big names in the industry, such as Disney, Nickelodeon, Halo, Star Wars, and Paramount Plus. I’ve produced and consulted on a variety of entertainment projects, including music tours, albums, and films.
One of my notable achievements is producing and consulting on Kat Graham’s Worldwide Long Hot Summer Tour 2022, which had over 30 shows in 12 different countries. I also consulted on Graham’s Toro Gato music album and all the branding around it, which made history as the first album to be released exclusively as an NFT in 2020/2021.
Aside from my work with Graham, I’ve held various executive positions in the entertainment industry. I am currently the digital director for Contrast Magazine and its publications, including Contrast Publishing and MDM Media. I am also in the process of bringing the company to the next level with its own App to revolutionize and create a new way to feature and give a platform to artists worldwide.
If that weren’t enough, I’ve also broken barriers with my inclusivity-first clothing collection, Galactica. The collection sold out globally in less than two weeks in 2021. Additionally, I created the first Zoom virtual meet and greet in history, which earned me a Webby nomination and global acclamation during the pandemic.
My business expertise is not limited to the entertainment industry alone. I strive to make the world a more connected, balanced place. In 2022, I shared my social media expertise during a panel for the United Nations during the Cannes Film Festival on the power of social media to give a voice to refugees worldwide.
Human rights, wellness, and mental health are the foundation of my work. In February 2024, I officially became one of the global ambassadors for “Health 360” and the “Americorps” program to raise awareness across the US about the importance of mental health.
In March 2024, I signed with music distribution Vydia to represent independent music artists globally to be able to change the narrative in the music industry and raise the voices of independent artists.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey has not been conventional, but my ideas and hard work have taken me far. I constantly challenge myself to stay inspired and hungry to achieve more. As a gay boy, I had to work twice as hard to prove myself and pave my way against discrimination. This experience gave me the strength to emerge stronger from my darkest moments.
As I strive to work on projects that have a global impact and resonance, I certainly have made an impact worldwide. I’ve helped my clients build stronger brands and create platforms for themselves, revolutionizing the industry with my innovative ideas and inclusivity-first approach.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I will probably say all the NO’s that I heard in my life before to get it to this point, none of those stopped me from chasing my dreams, other people’s limitations are not yours to own. And I kept fighting for the life I have built for myself over time.
