Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Albert and Ivone Guzman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Albert and Ivone, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

We are strong believers in God and his promises and walking by faith this past May 2021 my husband Albert quit his job to dedicate 100% of his time in our business. We didn’t have a full schedule of events lined up when he quit, but we knew God had a plan for our little family business… Since then we have had work every single month and we are doing better than when my husband had a full time job. God is good! He is faithful.

Albert and Ivone, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Ivone here. December 2017 I have decided to start a long awaited adventure and turn my little hobby into a business. It all started when I (Ivone) helped my sister with her kid’s birthday party decorations, I have always enjoyed decorating around the house. but I have never imagined that after a few birthday parties and baby showers that I helped my sister decorate, people would love them that much that they would start asking me for help… little by little more and more people started asking for different themes and events… that’s when The Event Decor was born; with the help of my DREAM TEAM; my Husband Albert, 2 Daughters Allie Grace and Enovi Joy and my baby Boy John Albert. Sometimes I even bring my Mom and Dad and my sister when I need a little extra help. I am doing what I love!!! I know God has a plan and purpose for everyone, I really think mine is to bring happiness to people. This past May 2021 my husband Albert quit his full time job and jumped in on our business full time! It was by faith that we did that jump and God has always been faithful to his promises. We are strong believers in God and give him all the glory. It is amazing how fast our little business is growing, we have meet so many people in so many different walks of life and try to share our heart for Jesus everywhere we go. We have so many more plans for the future and we can’t wait to see where God takes us in this adventure called The Event Decor. Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In the beginning, it was just me (Ivone) on planning, designing and organizing all the party. On weekends, my kids and husband helped out when they could. But it got to the point that I needed my husband’s help every single weekend, but he still had his full time job. After a few weekends calling in to work to be able to help me. He prayed and decided for him to quit his job. By that time we didn’t have a full schedule booked. But we still believe and pray. And after a few days… Our schedule is been booked almost every single weekend. Around August 2021 my husband got COVID-19 for 2 weeks we didn’t have nothing on the schedule… God knew what he was doing because my husband ended up in the hospital for more than a week with double pneumonia and needed to be in oxygen for a month and a half. At the time, I had to do everything by myself and the kids and the help of my parents. Thank God my husband is good now, and we have been so busy, it was a little learning experience because we are learning more and more as we go and we literally learn something new after every single event. We have met so many good nice people that have become our friends, some we have help them celebrate bridal showers, weddings, baby showers, and 1 st year only birthday parties. Some we have helped celebrate baby shower up to now their first 4 years of their little lives. We really love what we do.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

We help people make their parties come to life. We decorate all kinds of celebrations. We love bringing smile to people, but not just any simple decor but everything with wow factor.

We try to go above and beyond our clients expectations.

We always go the extra mile. We love the idea of helping our clients create beautiful memories that would last a life time. And the best is that we have created a relationship with each and everyone of our current clients and now we called our friends.
