We recently connected with Ajona “Jax” Camile and have shared our conversation below.
Ajona “Jax”, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Last year in 2021 I took the biggest risk of my life when I resigned from my decade plus long company/position. It’s honestly crazy when I think about it now because after I did, it I was briefly in a state of “WTF did I just do!?” And while, you would think when someone quits one job, they obviously have another one lined up…. Well… not me in the slightest bit! No new offers, no “fail proof ” plans mapped out, no prospects, no nothing! Just me, my spirit, and a blurred vision to be honest…
Overly exhausted from 10+ years in GO- MODE in the entertainment industry, I decided to just not even bother with looking for my next situation. So from July 2021 -November 2021 that’s exactly what I did NOT do.. was get a job..lol.. Instead, I just poured into myself mentally, and invested 200% of my time and finances into building on my own label/ multimedia company, We Get It Music Group whilst simultaneously
[b]lowing [m]oney [f]ast. (*BMF SZN 2 coming soon with @jasunjabbar btw :)
Anyway, because of my resignation midway through 2021, my energy for anyone around me was literally like look, “we either gettin it or we missing it!”…Needless to say #wegetit and soon enough, clients started picking up, achievements were achieving, people started to recognize the consistency in content being put out, to the quality, to the thought and marketing behind what we were doing, which for me, was gratifying and the universe’s way of telling me I’m gonna be good! But as the year started to wrap up and although investments were growing well, I still didn’t have sufficient income flowing back in to continue to sustain my lifestyle, so I started tapping back into who’s hiring in the industry. By January ’22 I was back in my bag when I landed a role with with a MEGA STAR in LA. #LookatGod. I’m now making $30,000 MORE! than my previous position, I’m back in LA, all my hard work, and patience has FINALLY paid off! All of this was God’s plan right?!
WRONG! Turn outs, those particular plans he made were only for me to stop by and show face for a second, because FOUR months later, another major pivot happened where I found myself in a newer situation making even more money, bigger title, on the other side of new doors and new industries I would of never guessed my career would go.
So, I guess to sum it up, my most abrupt and uncomfortable risk I’ve ever taken thus far turned out to be the best career decision I have made yet. It was pretty brutal though not gonna lie, but I’m grateful for the experience and for not being a victim of fear.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
So, I’ve always had a true passion for music in general, so much so, I actually am an artist as well. Simultaneously, I played basketball and studied Forensic Science at SCC & UofA, but it wasn’t until 2010, Winter break of my Junior year where I fully committed to the Music Business. Depressed and completely unmotivated by the school because I got hurt and could no longer play ball, I spontaneously decided I dropped out of school, move to Miami at 20 years young and NEVER looked back!
From there, I hustled and started working with Young Money/Cash Money as a runner/personal assistant to Lil Wayne’s manager- Cortez Bryant. At the time, Lil Wayne had just been incarcerated so the tangible focus shifted on the rising of today’s biggest artists – Drake and Nicki Minaj. Touring the world with the “Big 3” allowed me to really tap into my genius as a Musical Executive. Over the last ten years, I elevated from a Personal Assistant to Executive Assistant, to General Manager, Creative Director, to Vice President of Operations. I am also the founder of a multimedia label, We Get It Music Group. Currently, I consult for multi-millionaire, Mike Russell for one of his exciting new companies that will hit the market next year in 2023, as well as, I am the Executive Creative Director for Krystal Restaurants alongside the leadership of Head of Creative Marketing- 2 Chainz and Brand Strategist- Ray J… ( If you’ve seen the Brittany Renner Side Chik commercials or the Ray J Open late commercials… yup that’s me. hehe)
I do alot of things and wear many hats, which ultimately sums up the reason behind the name of my company… WE GET IT
I’m most proud of my leading clients Jasun Jabbar and T.O Green for dedication and effortless grind!! They never miss!
Be sure to check out @jasunjabbar on the final season of Family Reunion with Tia Mowry on Netflix and BMF S2 on Starz!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Honestly, my interest for NFTs was short lived. I don’t think NFTs or the Metaverse is my thing.. I’m stuck in the 90s, and here for the tangibles of life, but I don’t knock those who are in favor of it.
