We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Airanna Myles a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Airanna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
It’s funny when people look at where you are today and assume it just happened overnight. The media , the pictures , the likes and views show the ‘before’ and the ‘after,’ but they skip the entire middle chapter where the real building happens. The truth is, POP&Posh by:NVME didn’t just appear out of thin air; it is the result of years of laying a solid foundation with NVME Creations, which I started back in 2018.
When I first began, I was focused on a lot of different creative avenues, including treat decorating. But as the business grew, I found my true calling and passion in large-scale event design and custom balloon artistry. Making the decision to scale up and transition into a physical retail and venue space at the Crossroads Mall wasn’t an easy, seamless jump—it was a massive, calculated leap of faith.
Scaling up requires a massive shift in strategy and mindset. You go from managing inventory in your home or storage to handling commercial mall lease negotiations, coordinating large-scale logistics like helium supply chains, and designing a physical footprint that welcomes the community.
Every single day of this journey is not glitter and perfect installations. Behind the beautiful pastel palettes and the stunning event arches, there are real obstacles, tight timelines, and moments of intense pressure. But as an entrepreneur, you quickly learn that you cannot make excuses. If a plan doesn’t work, you don’t throw your hands up and quit—you learn how to pivot.
Mistakes and twists along the way aren’t failures; they are just data. They teach you how to adjust your operations, how to communicate better, and how to protect your vision. Being a good business owner means understanding that a bad day doesn’t equal a bad business. You adjust your strategy, you keep your feet moving forward, and you constantly strive for better.
We built this expansion to create a warming, beautiful space where families can celebrate their most meaningful milestones. Reaching this point took hard work, continuous learning, and an unshakeable refusal to give up. That is the real middle story of scaling a business: it’s sweat, execution, and the willingness to pivot until your vision becomes a reality.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who are just meeting me, my name is Airanna Myles, and I am the founder and owner of NVME CREATIONS LLC and our brand-new retail storefront and venue space, POP&Posh by:NVME.
My journey into the event planning and design industry officially began in 2018. Like many entrepreneurs, I started out exploring a variety of creative avenues, including custom treat decorating. However, as the business evolved, I discovered my true, undeniable passion lay in transformation—taking a blank canvas of a room and turning it into an unforgettable experience. In 2024, I made the intentional decision to transition the primary focus of my business entirely toward custom event planning, design, and high-end balloon artistry. That passion and growth have ultimately led us to our biggest milestone yet: launching our physical storefront in my local hometown .
What We Provide & The Problems We Solve
At POP&Posh by:NVME, we specialize in luxury, custom balloon installations, large-scale arches, and comprehensive event design. We don’t just sell party decor; we create the visual backdrop for life’s most precious memories.
The biggest problem we solve for our clients is stress and the gap in execution. Planning a milestone celebration whether it’s a graduation, a landmark birthday, or a community event—can feel completely overwhelming for families. Clients come to us with a vague vision, and we handle the heavy lifting, the meticulous logistics, and the artistic execution. We take the pressure off their shoulders so they can actually be present and enjoy their own celebrations.
What Sets Us Apart
What truly sets us apart is our signature aesthetic and our deep-rooted commitment to our community. Visually, our brand is known for a ‘pretty and warming’ aesthetic. We love working with soft, welcoming pastel color palettes that bring a sense of joy, elegance, and warmth into any space we touch.
But beyond the aesthetics, our heart is what differentiates us. We are a deeply community-oriented business. I believe that celebrations shouldn’t just be for a select few; everyone deserves to feel celebrated. That is why we actively champion community outreach initiatives, such as our annual gingerbread decorating event and a new project I am actively working on which will be a ‘Community Dual Open House’ project, which are designed to support and celebrate graduating high school seniors and families experiencing life hardships and housing instability. I don’t want to just do business in my community; I want to lift the community up through my business.
What I Am Most Proud Of
I am incredibly proud of our resilience and our growth. Moving from a home-based creative business into a prominent retail and venue space is proof of what happens when you refuse to give up. I am proud to show my children, and other aspiring business owners, that you don’t need a traditional corporate background or a college degree to build a thriving, impactful brand. You just need a vision, a relentless work ethic, and the willingness to learn and pivot.
What I Want the World to Know
If there is one thing I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know about POP&Posh by:NVME, it’s that we treat your milestones as if they were our own. When you work with us, you aren’t just booking a service; you are partnering with a team that genuinely cares about the warmth, beauty, and joy of your experience. Every arch we build, every event we plan, and every person who walks through our storefront doors is met with passion, excellence, and a commitment to making life’s moments beautiful.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building our social media audience didn’t happen by buying followers or going viral overnight. It was built brick by brick, follower by follower, through consistency, authenticity, and showing the real process.
When I first started posting for NVME Creations, I did what a lot of beginners do: I only posted pictures of the final product. But I quickly realized that people don’t just fall in love with a finished balloon arch—they fall in love with the story behind it. Our audience really started to grow when I began pulling back the curtain. I started sharing the behind-the-scenes chaos, the late-night prep sessions, the satisfying process of inflating hundreds of balloons, and even the moments where we had to pivot because something didn’t go as planned.
People crave authenticity. By showing the ‘nitty-gritty’ middle phase that we talked about earlier, our followers became invested in our journey. They weren’t just clients watching a business; they were a community rooting for our growth. When we announced our transition to the POP&Posh by:NVME storefront our online community celebrated with us because they felt like they had been part of the construction process all along.
My Advice for Those Just Starting Out
If you are at day one of building your social media presence, here are the main strategies that actually work
Document, Don’t Just Create , Don’t wait until you have a flawless, perfect product to post. Prop your phone up on a tripod and film yourself working. People love watching the transformation of a space. The ‘process’ is highly engaging content.
Embrace Your Signature Aesthetic, Figure out what your brand feels like and stick to it. For us, it’s a ‘pretty and warming’ aesthetic with soft pastel palettes. When someone scrolls past your post on their feed, they should instantly recognize it as yours before they even see your business name.
Value Connection Over Numbers, Don’t obsess over view counts or follower metrics. Focus on the people who are actually engaging with you. Reply to every comment, answer your DMs with warmth, and treat your followers like real people. A community of 500 deeply engaged, loyal supporters who love your work is worth infinitely more than 50,000 random followers who don’t care about your brand.
Show Up Even When the Room Feels Empty, In the beginning, it might feel like you’re talking to yourself. Keep posting anyway. Consistency tells your audience—and potential clients—that you are reliable, serious about your craft, and here to stay.
Social media is a marathon, not a sprint. Be patient with your growth, stay true to your vision, and remember that the right people will find you when you show up authentically

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn was the idea that as a business owner, you have to say ‘yes’ to every single client and event that comes your way.
When you are building a business from the ground up, you naturally get into a mindset where you feel like you need to take on every single opportunity to grow. You want to service everyone, and you don’t want to let anyone down.
But the backstory for me is that I had to learn the hard way how to find a real balance between my business and my personal life. I am a mother, I have a family, and I am a human being. There came a point where the sheer workload was catching up to me. I had to realize that taking on too much wasn’t doing anyone any favors.
I had to learn where my boundary line was. For me, setting my limit at a maximum of three events for one single day was a game-changer. I had to learn that it is completely okay to decline clients if an event doesn’t align with my capacity or my true self. It’s never because I don’t want to service them—it’s because I refuse to give anyone a watered-down version of my work.
Unlearning the guilt of saying ‘no’ allowed me to protect my energy, my family time, and the quality of my craft. Now, when we design for a client at POP&Posh by:NVME, they get 100% of my passion and focus because I’m not stretched thin. Knowing your max capacity isn’t a limitation; it’s how you keep your business elite and your peace of mind intact
