Adylia-Rhenee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One thing we always find fascinating is how differently entrepreneurs think about revenue growth and cost reductions – both can be powerful ways to improve profitability. What do you spend more of your time and energy on?

This question is like ‘which came first, the chicken or the egg?’

I believe that in order to grow you have to streamline your expenses. What I mean is figure out the areas where you can learn or truly enjoy and that’s your area. Then have a couple other people that are better at different areas of your business than you.

So you’re streamlining and being most efficient.

I’m Adylia- Rhenee Gutierrez and I’m a former 2x World Cup Fencer for USA. I created Yhorlife while I was at university.

I created Yhorlife initially as way to provide people with real and helpful tips for their life and they can apply it how they see fit.

Since it’s inception, Yhorlife has now grown into a 1 stop wellness/ lifestyle platform. Yhorlife offers are curated shop from global brands, Build Yhorlife Coaching™️, and our interviews and articles.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

It’s funny, well not actually funny but more ironic funny.

So on April 15th, 2022 my Yhorlife Instagram account got hacked. I got a message on WhatsApp from the hacker stating “I have your account, not trying to hurt you, and I will give it back for $2,000.00. Choose wisely.”

All the work and live interviews that were on our old account was gone. And I crumbled and I called EVERYONE panicked and distraught. Everything I had worked for lost in an instant.

I called my team and they were like “you need to create a new account and just go.” I did it and I literally didn’t sleep for 3 days because I changed everything. Even during the time I was debating do I love this enough to keep going.

Obviously, yes. It was a real moment because it’s like your starting over again. But that’s the thrill of life.

How’d you meet your business partner?

So, I’m really fortunate that my younger brother Demetrius joined me in 2021 as the CEO.

We’ve always been close but are very different. My brother was the missing piece Yhorlife needed.

Like I said previously, I founded Yhorlife while I was at University. My brother had no interest in the business back then. Also because he was getting ready for University at Swansea in the UK.

Then in late 2020. I was explaining what I wanted for the company/ brand. He was giving me suggestions. Then he was like “I’ll join – under this capacity. This is your area and this is mine.”

I was stoked. Granted our communication skills have been improved because we process information and how we grasp things differently. So when ideas don’t match we’ve learned how to properly express ourselves.
