We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adriel Faith a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adriel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I think my most meaningful project would be my very first album release “LOVESICK”. This project really depicted the many scars I suffered throughout my life. Including my physical sickness, my emotional damage, the loss of many people that I thought were my friends or my family, and also the struggles and doubts that were caused to my faith because of everything I went through. As Christians, many people are quick to point fingers and judge us when we mess up or fall. But this album depicts the complete opposite. A Christian man that wears his flaws and his stains. But most importantly, it’s a testament to what God can do when you decide to trust and put your faith in him.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always had this love and infatuation for music, even as a little kid. My dad was a worship leader at church so he was the one that pushed me and taught me to learn drums. I played at church for a couple years. But through those years, I felt like I was meant to do something more. That’s when I discovered Christian Hip Hop. My first inspirations were Lecrae, Andy Mineo, & KB. I started to learn and practice my production and beat making and I worked on my writing as well. As the years went by, my knowledge and skills grew. I started to release music. And the more I got into it, the more I fell in love with it. I always promised myself that I would only make music for God and to encourage the youth. A promise I haven’t broken since day one. I think that’s one of the things that I’m most proud of. The only thing I want people who follow me and listen to my music to know is that no matter what you may go through, God is always there. Even when it seems like you’re on your own, he’s still there. All you have to do is reach out and put your trust and faith in him.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal with my music has always been to speak hope to people who need it and to speak about Jesus to those who may not know who Jesus is. I myself am a huge testimony to what God does and what he can do. That’s something I try to portray in my music as well as my personal life. I understand that not everyone might wanna hear about it. But it’s my job to represent and spread the name of Jesus. You never know who might need to hear it.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing about what I do and why I do it is when I get to meet people who have been touched by the music I’ve made. It’s great to see that people receive it because I know deep inside that it’s not me that deserves the praise. But it’s God who’s working through me and who gave me these lyrics and this talent to spread his word. It makes it all worth it honestly.
