We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adriann Jenkins. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adriann below.
Alright, Adriann thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on and still work on to this day is our yearly studio showcases. These shows are all about giving our students the opportunity to perform on stage in front of a crowd! Having that stage exposure really help students who want to purse a performance career. Many of our students go on to perform in local variety and burlesque shows! As the studio manager, it’s my job to organize, advertise, and manage the performers for each and every show we put on! I have had the pleasure of seeing so many of our students hit the stage and blossom into an amazing on stage presence! It brings me nothing but joy seeing students so confident on stage!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been in the aerial arts industry for almost 8 years! It all started back in 2016 when a friend of mine asked me to join for her a Pole dancing class. At first, I was very skeptical because at the time, I wasn’t very physically active, but I said why not and joined her. After my first class I was hooked and couldn’t wait to for my next class. After six months of constant training and classes, I was offered a position as an instructor and I couldn’t have been more honored! Since then I’ve continued to educate myself so I can be the best instructor for students that I can be. I am a certified instructor in pole, silks, Lyra, Liquid Motion, core strength and stability, and stretch and flexibility. I teach all the advanced classes at DID Fit LLC, where I am also the studio manager. I also offer private lessons and workshops! What really makes me proud of how far my aerial career has come is the students and my boss. It’s so gratifying to see a student nail the skill they have been working on and seen their excitement and their confidence grow! My boss, who also happens to be my best friend, has been such an amazing support for me and my career. She has been an excellent leader and her support for me is unbelievably appreciated!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me is being apart of so many peoples journey. Watching people grow from their very first class and onward really encourages me to be better for them! See their dedication and determination pushes me even more to always be on the top of my game so that I can continue to help them grow and reach their aerial goals.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I have a goal to one day travel outside of my home state and share my passion and knowledge with other aerialist and aerial studios! I have already started to travel within my home state and it has been an amazing experience. I want nothing more than to share what I know and travel to teach all over the country!
