We recently connected with Adria Copeland and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Adria, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
II knew that I wanted to create a brand that would promote positivity and good fortune. My husband has a knack for naming things so I came to him and together we created “Good Luck Shop.”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Growing up I was obsessed with fashion and would study it wherever I could- fashion shows, movies, music videos, etc… I even wallpapered my bedroom walls with editorials from Vogue, Bazaar, and other high fashion magazines. I didn’t have the finances to afford the clothing that I wanted, so I would shop at second-hand stores. That’s how I was first introduced to resale. I would get pretty experimental with my style as well –always trying to keep my finger on the pulse of the fashion industry. After high school I worked as a make-up artist and later as a stylist. What I loved the most about styling was having access to all of the best luxury apparel and fine jewelry. My initial experiences with celebrity styling, however, were daunting. The stylist I worked for didn’t treat me well and the work-life balance wasn’t balanced at all. There came a time when I realized I was starting to master my craft and my love for fashion was increasing no matter how poorly I was treated. That’s when I decided to branch out on my own and create a non-toxic environment for my passions.
I offer my consignment clients a genuine and personable experience that allows them to sell their most beloved pieces of clothing without the typical hassle of dealing with the corporate factory experience. They can trust that their items will be handled with the care and attention that they deserve. My passion is genuine and they can sense that. It’s a symbiotic process that I have come to love.
I help my clients sell their luxury clothing and accessories as well as source for them with love and expert attention.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being a trustworthy person is essential. Honesty, integrity, and positivity are key attributes of my business model. Some of my clients give me luxury items to sell that are very expensive. They are confident that I will get them a quick and profitable return. When they win, I win.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I like to sell on the larger, more established platforms. Their reach is immense and very advantagous to my business. Due to the fact they can spend millions on marketing, their reach is global. I have sold on many of these sites simultaneously, including eBay, Poshmark, Vestiaire, and Depop for years. They have been great, however, I am also excited about my newest endeavor –Live Selling. My husband and I are hosting bi-weekly shows on a platform called “Whatnot.” It’s been thrilling and lucrative. Although he’s been in front of the camera his whole life, this is my first time doing anything like this. Fortunately, he says that I am a natural. Whatnot is a new and innovative way to connect with the buyers. Think QVC 2.0 but with a more relaxed, fun twist.
