Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adoniyah Green. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Adoniyah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
I’ve worked hard with my music career despite many challenges I’ve faced, I am more of a lyricist than other artist and in the business of portraying a different way in hip hop genres and any other avenue I can. It’s always been a struggle to really feel understood by my crowd. The performances were fun but no one heard what I had to say honestly.
I have always put forth a certain work ethic just to be named “Most Underrated” by my peers.
I realized that I was recognized for the talent I had that no one else could see due to the environment I felt I had to be confined to.
It promoted me to reach out and expand to see exactly WHO I could reach and what I could ACTUALLY accomplish if I searched for the environment for me.
Now I’ve been able to start my own business creating for others as well as explore the art world a little more.
The most important piece is realizing as a creative , you should try EVERYTHING! That is EXACTLY what makes all the difference, the ability to create and show people something they’ve never thought of in ANY form is what’s going to keep you going.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am 27 years old mother of two from Columbus Ohio. I’ve been a performer majority of my life including dance, choir, and improv. Starting from spoken word, I’ve always loved a nice descriptive rhyme. I never tried to put music behind any of my pieces until 2020 since then, I focused on my musical endeavors as “ReddNina” for around 3 years until I had my second child. It was an adventure with friends that turned into something fun. As I’ve began to perfect my music craft, I started to paint and look into other forms of media such as photography .
I’ve always been interested in hair styling for as long as I could remember and always had dreams of my own salon,to promote self esteem & postivity which lead me to starting a business to sell hair and lashes originally. I realized I had so many more avenues for self expression for myself and others it quickly turned into a boutique offering custom merch and accessories. Red’s Bundles LLC specializes in custom gifts for ANY occasion or just to add a little flair to your style. We also offer Lashes and will offer more glam materials soon.
You can also purchase custom art pieces (by yours truly, of course) . I’m very excited to Network and gain new clients and discover other creatives.
I’m looking to use ALL of my talents for my ultimate production to immerse my audience in my music visuals.
What makes me the most proud of my journey so far is how my ambition has been paying off even when I’m wanting to give up. Juggling two children , school work and now my business and hobbies had been challenging but putting faith in my business and creativity and NOT letting the doubt win has ultimately the best choice for me. I want to try everything that helps me show maybe just one more piece of my puzzle. I’m currently enrolled at SNHU for Business Admin with an accounting concentration
I have always been about expressing yourself OUT LOUD and PROUD and being unapologetically you. My goal is to help in ANY way I can. Glam, Apparel or just how you show others you care.
This summer I’m looking to engage the my community and other likeminded individuals.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I thought this one was interesting, only because I’m not sure if I honestly think there are “Non-Creatives”.
I think that seeing others in their self expression can lead to one being more open about wanting to express themselves. Some people don’t necessarily get introduced to creating or don’t see it as a serious way to break outside the box.
It may not necessarily be an exaggerated means of doing so but I believe everyone is creative in their own way.
