We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Addison Farrier. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Addison below.
Addison, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I started tattooing later in life by traditional standards (if a “traditional standard” in the tattoo industry exists).
I spent a lifetime exploring all kinds of different careers and art forms until I was presented with the opportunity to become a tattoo artist (a lifelong dream if I’m honest). I was 32.
Despite being the hardest thing I’ve ever done, tattooing was immediately the best thing that ever happened to me. It gave me a creative outlet like I had never known. It gave me community. It gave me purpose. I remember thinking, “Dang! Think about how much further along I would be if I had started this 10 years ago!” I remember being so hard on myself for not pursuing it with more fervor in my early twenties.
Just a handful of years later I know that I started exactly when I was supposed to. I now have a lifetime of life and business experience that was necessary for me to succeed as a tattoo artist. I believe it has actually given me a much deeper appreciation for tattooing and what it has given me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Addison or Addie!
I am originally from Wyoming, but have been in Colorado for nearly 15 years.
I am a tattoo artist in Denver, Co (specifically Wheatridge) specializing in neo traditional tattoos, although I pride myself on being fluent in other styles. I have a deep respect and appreciation for the industry, and enjoy studying many styles.
I work in a very special tattoo shop called Nest Art Collective in Wheatridge, Co. Nest provides me with a safe and welcoming private space where my clients are able to feel comfortable throughout their entire tattoo process.
Tattooing has allowed me to travel and do guest spots or conventions all across the country as well.
I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who follows my work and continues to get tattooed by me!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The people.
Tattooing has such a beautiful and diverse community. The thing that I am absolutely most grateful for is the lovely humans that it has brought into my life; from clients to peers.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I quite genuinely just want to be a safe, friendly artist in this community.
I pride myself on my clientele being comfortable with me as they go through an intense and often painful tattooing process with me.
