We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Abel Sanchez Jr a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Abel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
One of the biggest misconceptions about entrepreneurship is that businesses start with a perfect plan. Mine didn’t. WYNOT started with a simple question that has guided much of my life: “Why not?” Why not create opportunities where they don’t exist? Why not help people discover gifts they didn’t know they had? Why not build something that empowers others through fitness, arts, media, leadership, and community?
The idea came long before the company. For years, I was teaching fitness classes, choreographing performances, mentoring young people, producing events, and helping individuals build confidence. I kept seeing the same thing: people needed more than a workout, a dance class, or a performance opportunity. They needed encouragement, guidance, and a community that believed in them. Eventually, I realized I wasn’t building separate programs—I was building a mission.
The next step was turning that mission into something real. I spent countless hours researching business structures, branding, licensing, marketing, and operations. I had to learn how to move from being a passionate instructor and creative professional to becoming a business owner. That meant filing paperwork, creating systems, developing programs, building a website, establishing social media channels, and figuring out how to serve people consistently while remaining financially sustainable.
In the beginning, there wasn’t a large team or a big budget. There was a vision, determination, and a willingness to learn. Every day became a lesson. One day I was creating class schedules, the next I was designing marketing materials, meeting with community leaders, planning events, or studying business strategies late into the night. I learned to wear multiple hats because I had to.
As WYNOT grew, so did the vision. What started as fitness and creative programming expanded into a larger ecosystem. WYNOT Fitness became a platform for health and confidence. Gen Alpha Academy of Arts was created to develop young artists and performers. Go Universal Media and Talkgenix gave us a voice to share stories and inspire others. More recently, the Miss Eagle Pass Empowerment Initiative was developed to create leadership opportunities and community impact while pursuing nonprofit status.
The journey from idea to execution wasn’t one big moment—it was thousands of small decisions. Registering the company. Launching the first class. Producing the first event. Mentoring the first student. Partnering with the first sponsor. Building the first website. Every step created momentum for the next.
What allowed me to move beyond the idea phase was understanding that clarity often comes through action, not before it. I didn’t wait until everything was perfect. I started with what I had, learned what I didn’t know, adapted when challenges appeared, and continued moving forward.
Today, WYNOT World Wide represents much more than a business. It’s a growing platform dedicated to empowering people through arts, fitness, media, leadership, and community engagement. Looking back, the process wasn’t about having all the answers. It was about believing in the mission enough to take the first step—and then having the persistence to keep taking the next one.

Abel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Abel, and I am the Founder and Visionary behind WYNOT World Wide, a purpose-driven organization dedicated to empowering individuals through fitness, arts, media, leadership development, and community engagement.
My journey into this work wasn’t the result of a single business idea—it was the natural evolution of a lifelong passion for helping people discover their potential. For years, I worked as a fitness instructor, dance choreographer, artistic director, producer, mentor, and community leader. Through those experiences, I witnessed firsthand how movement, creativity, mentorship, and positive guidance could transform lives. Whether I was leading a fitness class, coaching a performer, producing an event, or mentoring a young person, I saw people gain confidence, find their voice, and begin to believe in themselves.
Over time, I realized that my work wasn’t confined to one industry. I wasn’t simply teaching fitness, producing shows, or coaching individuals. I was creating opportunities for people to grow, connect, and become the best version of themselves. That realization led to the creation of WYNOT World Wide.
Today, WYNOT World Wide serves as the umbrella organization for several initiatives, including WYNOT Fitness, Gen Alpha Academy of Arts, Go Universal Media, Talkgenix, and the Miss Eagle Pass Empowerment Initiative. Together, these programs create pathways for health, creativity, leadership, entrepreneurship, personal development, and community impact.
What sets us apart is that we focus on the whole person. Many organizations specialize in one area, but our approach recognizes that confidence, success, and fulfillment are built through multiple dimensions of life. We combine fitness, arts, mentorship, leadership training, media, and community engagement into one ecosystem designed to inspire growth and opportunity.
The services and programs we provide range from fitness instruction and wellness programming to performing arts education, youth mentorship, event production, media creation, leadership development, and community empowerment initiatives. Whether we’re helping someone improve their physical health, develop artistic talents, strengthen leadership skills, or build confidence, our goal remains the same: to help people realize what is possible for themselves.
One of the problems we solve is access. Many talented individuals simply need someone to believe in them, guide them, and provide opportunities to succeed. We work to remove barriers, create meaningful experiences, and open doors that may not have existed otherwise. We help people move from uncertainty to confidence and from potential to action.
What I am most proud of is not any single event, title, or accomplishment. It is the impact we’ve had on people’s lives. Seeing a student perform for the first time, watching someone regain confidence through fitness, mentoring a young leader who discovers their purpose, or creating opportunities that strengthen our community—those are the moments that matter most.
At its core, WYNOT World Wide is built on a simple philosophy: Why not dream bigger? Why not pursue your goals? Why not become the person you were meant to be?
I want people to know that our brand is more than a company. It is a movement centered on empowerment, creativity, service, and growth. Everything we do is designed to help individuals unlock their potential, strengthen their confidence, and create positive change in their lives and communities. As we continue to grow, our mission remains unchanged: to inspire, mentor, empower, and create opportunities that make a lasting impact.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
If I had to choose one story that defines resilience, it would be what happened when my entire world came to a sudden stop.
As someone who had built a career around fitness, movement, creativity, leadership, and helping others, I was used to being constantly active. I was teaching classes, choreographing performances, mentoring youth, producing events, and growing WYNOT World Wide. Then, without warning, I found myself fighting for my life.
I was hospitalized and spent nearly three months in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Everything I had worked so hard to build was suddenly placed on hold. My routines disappeared. My business operations slowed. My physical strength was gone. The future I had planned became uncertain.
There were moments when simply getting through the day was the goal.
As difficult as that season was, it became one of the most important chapters of my life. Being forced to stop gave me a new perspective on purpose, gratitude, and resilience. I learned that strength isn’t measured only by how much weight you can lift, how many hours you can work, or how much you can accomplish. Sometimes strength is measured by your willingness to keep believing when circumstances tell you to give up.
The road back was not easy. Recovery required patience, faith, determination, and a commitment to rebuilding both physically and mentally. I had to learn to celebrate small victories. Every step forward mattered.
What emerged from that experience was a stronger version of myself. Not because the challenge made me invincible, but because it reminded me why my work matters. I returned with a deeper appreciation for health, community, leadership, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Today, when people see WYNOT World Wide, they see the programs, events, initiatives, and growth. What they may not see is the story behind it—the story of someone who faced one of the most difficult seasons of his life, refused to quit, and came back stronger than ever.
That experience reinforced the philosophy that has guided me throughout my journey: obstacles may delay your path, but they do not have to define your destination. Sometimes the greatest comeback begins when everything seems to have stopped.
Looking back, surviving that chapter wasn’t just a personal victory. It became proof that resilience is real, that purpose is powerful, and that even after life’s toughest setbacks, it is possible to rise again stronger than before.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
One of the greatest blessings in my life—and one of the biggest reasons WYNOT World Wide exists today—began with a chance meeting at a local gym.
Twenty-five years ago, I met my life partner, Pedro J. Hernandez, at Bally Total Fitness in San Antonio, Texas. Like many great stories, ours started simply. We met during our workouts, struck up conversations, and quickly discovered a connection that went beyond fitness. There was an immediate sense of comfort, understanding, and shared values.
After a few dates, I invited Pedro over to my place for our third date. What neither of us realized at the time was that he would never really leave. That third date became the beginning of a life together.
Over the years, we’ve shared every kind of experience imaginable—the highs, the lows, the challenges, the victories, and the countless everyday moments that truly define a partnership. Together, we’ve learned how to support one another through life’s uncertainties while continuing to grow both individually and as a team.
What makes our relationship special is that it has always been rooted in mutual support, trust, and a belief that we can accomplish more together than we ever could alone. As my dreams evolved into businesses, programs, productions, and community initiatives, Pedro was there. He became a trusted partner, sounding board, encourager, and steady presence through every stage of the journey.
As WYNOT began taking shape, it wasn’t just my vision anymore—it became our mission. Together, we helped build the foundation for what would eventually become WYNOT World Wide, a growing ecosystem dedicated to empowering people through fitness, arts, media, leadership, and community engagement.
The story of WYNOT is ultimately a story about people. It’s about believing in others, creating opportunities, and building something meaningful that leaves a lasting impact. In many ways, that mission reflects the very foundation of our relationship.
Twenty-five years later, I am still grateful for that chance meeting at Bally Total Fitness. What started as two people crossing paths during a workout became a lifelong partnership, a shared purpose, and a journey that continues to inspire everything we do today.
If there is one lesson our story has taught me, it is that some of life’s greatest opportunities arrive when you least expect them. Sometimes a simple conversation can change your future forever.
