Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaron Byrne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aaron, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
I started building in middle school; I was working construction jobs during the summers via a family friend who was building high-end custom homes. I ventured down a path into medicine based on the careers of my parents and landed my first corporate job out of college with a management consulting firm helping hospitals. That time spend in Corporate America has proven extremely important as it taught me an invaluable skill: handling difficult conversations. I learned a structured approach to having these conversations and, as a fresh college grad tasked with implementing ‘expert advice’ at established hospitals, gave me plenty of opportunities to practice having these conversations. Now as a builder, part of what clients get when they work decide to work with us is this refined approach to difficult conversations. We can plan and prep and do all the right things to build their dream home, but the reality is that construction is hard and not everything goes to plan and we must always remain flexible. Working together with clients and having constructive dialogue along the way, both positive and difficult, is a key differentiator for our business.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My passion for building homes started long before I picked up a tool belt. As a toddler, my first memories include riding heavy equipment around an old family property and watching my Paw Paw work. I spent childhood weekends assisting with my dad’s ‘honey do’ list, learning how to build basic furniture and execute everyday home repairs. I built my first shed at seven and saved up enough allowance money to buy a backpack leaf blower by twelve years old; I took on my own landscaping and cleanup jobs that summer. In seventh grade I was re-roofing homes with a volunteer organization and during high school I worked summers on a family friend’s construction sites learning everything I could. Watching homes come to life from the ground up sparked something in me early on — a deep appreciation for the craft, the precision, and the pride that goes into quality construction.
Throughout college and the ensuing years, I lost touch with the joy of creating something out of nothing. I entered management consulting and cut my teeth learning the ins and outs of corporate America. While I wasn’t building homes, I did gain hands-on experience in problem analysis and project management; I mastered the art of difficult conversations and cut my teeth with executive-level communications in boardrooms and corner offices.
Eventually, that early curiosity led me back to building. I worked alongside seasoned pros, re learned the ins and outs of residential construction, and slowly began to develop my own approach — one grounded in clear communication, thoughtful design, and attention to the little details that make a house truly feel like home.
I launched AB Bespoke Home in Sacramento with a simple goal: to offer busy professionals a better construction experience. That means no shortcuts and no surprises — just reliable craftsmanship, personalized service, and results built to last. Every project we take on is a chance to help someone bring their vision to life, and that’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly. We do the right thing for the right reason because every project is treated as our own.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Our social media presence has been grown steadily over time with consistent effort. My wife handles the majority of the social media workload and we are so grateful for that! We aim to showcase our projects, both while under construction as well as finished projects to give the audience insights into our work. We provide helpful hints and industry tips as free resources to give back to the viewer and showcase our expertise. The few exceptions to our slow and steady growth have been one or two posts that went viral with about a million views each. We cant explain it but somehow the algorithm looked favorable upon us in those instances!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Most of our new clients come from work we’ve already completed, either through referrals or from publicly posted re views (eg Google reviews) that past clients have graciously shared. These clients show serious intent and high levels of trust and are typically the most likely to move forward in working with us. Because our projects take many months to complete we really get to know our clients well over the course of a project; we’ve found that through this process our clients get a better sense of how we work and begin to perceive who amongst their circle may also work well with us. For new clients that don’t get a direct, personal referral they are typically doing a large amount of research and have decided that we would be a good fit for them based on the reviews others have provided for our work.
