Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaron Bielert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Aaron thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
As a kid I always was very creative, I would keep notebooks with stories I wrote and even screenplays I would just sit a write. My favorite TV show growing up was ‘Boy Meets World’ and just watching it really made me want to be an actor, but as you get older you start to realize your dreams may not always come true and settling into a behind the camera role and starting my own path was my answer and I would not change anything because I love helping others.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am 40 years old and started Sparkk TV back in 2004. But the Sparkk TV then (known as VBCtv) and now are very different. I always considered myself a creative growing up, I was adopted my my grandmother at less than a year old and she had a brain tumor when I was 10 years old which lead my to go into Foster Homes. I also suffer from Aspergers which I was mis-diagnosed until the age of 14. I found at a young age I was able to memorize everything line I heard on TV and then act out the scenes for myself. It made me want to become an actor but as you get older and you realize your dreams don’t always come true. So instead as technology got better I decided to launch my own website as a place for creatives to have. It changed over the next 5 years into a video site.
Now my goal is to help others get discovered, getting independent filmmakers a place to not get lost in the place that is YouTube and find an audience.
My proudest accomplishment is that I can help others in a business that I wanted to be apart of since a kid and even though my own dreams didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to, I am still living my dreams of being in the entertainment business behind the scenes and helping independent filmmakers like myself even have somewhere to showcase their content…

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Making Independent TV & Movies a household name like Netflix has done for established TV & Movies. Independent Filmmakers can get lost on YouTube and these large video platforms where Web Series & Web Movies are not their niche so by having a site dedicated for them, it enables me to always improve my site and help give these filmmakers a platform. My goal/mission is to help get others discovered. Just like I want to be apart of the business, so do others. So my goal is reality when others reach their goals also.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I have a lot of friends who don’t understand why I do what I do and not care about making a lot of money from doing it. My advice for those people is that when you have a passion or love doing something, it’s about happiness. Why kick your own butt doing something you don’t enjoy everyday when you can do something you do even if it doesn’t bring in a stable income. Life is about taking risks and having fun, we only get one and it’s better to enjoy it.
