Today we’d like to introduce you to Tehran “slick Da King” Johnson
Hi Tehran “slick Da King”, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I had a background in Acting and Writing, but I had given up and embarked on a more traditional journey and focused on 9-5 positions. However, once I moved to Atlanta, GA, the massive entertainment scene, there, called me. I began blogging about reality television, focusing on the Atlanta-based shows. I started landing interviews with top reality TV stars from Bravo, VH1, lifetime, WEtv and more. I, also, began to cover high profile red-carpet events.
This inspired me to try my hand at acting again. And I landed roles on Tyler Perry productions, Star, American Soul, The Resident, Black Lightning and tons of other TV shows and films such as: Shaft, Thunder Force and more.
Having so many crazy behind the scenes experiences, I felt compelled to weave some of them into my debut novel, The Secret Lives of Atlanta.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I experienced financial challenges, along the way. You need money to make money. As a struggling blogger and actor, I did a number of temp jobs to stay afloat.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most known for my commentary on reality TV which, also, led me to spill tea in my book series. I am beyond proud of the series, especially my 2nd book, The Secret Lives of Atlanta 2: Family Mess. It is by far my best creative work, to date.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t count yourself out. The impossible is always possible. Continue to dream, no matter what.
