Hi Marzmade, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

After being injured during my military service, I was forced into early retirement. This pushed me to find a way to support my growing family and express myself for the sake of my mental health. Since I’ve always loved art, I decided to try my hand at tattooing. This endeavor not only allowed me to express myself through my art, but also enabled me to connect and share my story with other veterans. While this was incredibly beneficial for me, I discovered that being a supportive listener and pillar for my fellow veterans was my true calling, giving me a sense of purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

Unfortunately, the journey has not always been smooth. There were times when I struggled to find inspiration while trying to adapt to a new and unfamiliar culture and environment. The tattooing culture was vastly different from the military culture I had been accustomed to for over a decade. However, my greatest struggle was dealing with and managing the expectations of those close to me and the fear of failure.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

My business model was modeled after mobility and convenience needs. So I converted a sprinter into a tattoo shop to be able to service more veteran. i donate free tattoos to wounded veterans as a form of peer to peer mentorship and to patch that hole comradery has left behind when you get out the service.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?

1 rule I live by is treat the janitor like the CEO everyone started from somewhere and you never know what people are going through
