Today we’d like to introduce you to Talyna Stone

Hi Talyna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

I have always loved the beauty industry. Growing up I was not able to wear makeup .. and that made me want to even more!

When I was 15, I was able to experiment and it made me feel so confident! I remember sitting in front of a mirror and just applying makeup .. not having anything to do as I had just moved to the upper peninsula of Michigan and didn’t know many people.

When school started, It didn’t take long for friends and my sister to notice my growing skills. They would ask me to do their makeup and I fell in love with being able to make people feel beautiful!

During cosmetology college I learned hair color and for the most part it came so naturally to me. Although I have made mistakes – I learned from them and continued to grow. Again I was able to make people feel their best!

In college we learned about waxing eyebrows and I was fascinated by how changing the shape of the brow could compliment someone’s face so much better! A few years into my career I added permanent makeup in the form of eyebrows and lips. It’s been truly amazing to meet so many people and impact their lives in such a positive light!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

In this industry there are many highs and lows. You truly do learn more from your mistakes and successes. I’ve had a few when it came to hair especially!

I have had moments where I’ve wanted to give up because it’s hard to have the pressure of pleasing your clients. I’m offering services that physically change them .. for a day to years! But practice and pushing through those moments, make you stronger.

It’s always amazing to look back on photos when I first started any one the three options I offer. I’ve grown so much and I’m very proud of myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I am a hairstylist, makeup artist and Permanent makeup artist!

I specialize in balayage hair coloring, bridal makeup and eyebrow/lip tattoos.

I’m so proud of not giving up, sticking through hard times in my career when I wasn’t so proud of my work .. growing, getting better and ALWAYS continuing my education. These services are always changing. New things are always coming out to try.

I believe what sets me apart is my work ethic and how I can make anyone feel comfortable in my chair. I really connect with my clients. And they connect with me. We both can be ourselves

Can you share something surprising about yourself?

I grew up in Northpole Alaska and was quite a tomboy! I loved fishing, fourwheeling and snowmobiling. I still have some of it in me haha
