We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Joanna Bremis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Joanna, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Perseverance and passion for your work.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started writing songs at an early age. It takes years to develop the craft. Then it’s important to update yourself in technology, as recording is essential in the music business. It is also important to develop a great live show, so performances are a must. Finally, you must sell your product, so learning about marketing is crucial. All in all, it’s a lifestyle and your music is the focus. If you can say you like your songs, others will say the same. You must love what you do to attain longevity which will sustain you in the industry.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
The money from bartending was good enough to keep my music going. It also provided contacts in the live music scene, so I could perform live as a headliner. I even got a residency in one popular nightclub. It helped greatly in developing and growing my live audience.
