Today we’d like to introduce you to Judy Maxine
Hi Judy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had a passion for beauty and aesthetics, starting my career in the industry back in 2011. I was fortunate enough to work with prestigious brands under the LVMH umbrella, where I honed my skills and created makeup looks for high-profile fashion shows and events. This experience deepened my love for transformative beauty, which eventually led me to the world of permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing.
In 2018, I took the leap into tattooing, blending my background in makeup artistry with a desire to help clients feel confident and empowered. Today, I specialize in permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing, offering services that enhance natural beauty and restore confidence after trauma or medical conditions.
Every treatment I provide is crafted with care and precision, drawing on years of expertise to achieve the best results for my clients. Whether it’s creating the perfect brow, camouflaging scars, or restoring features, my mission is to bring out the beauty that’s uniquely yours.
I’m proud to call Augusta, GA, my studio home. Additionally, I travel monthly to Raleigh, NC, to serve clients in that area. This allows me to connect with a broader community and bring my expertise to those who may not have access to these specialized services locally. Whether in Augusta or Raleigh, my commitment to providing exceptional care and results remains the same.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a small business in the beauty industry was no easy task. After stepping into the world of permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing in 2018, I faced the many challenges that come with being a new entrepreneur. From navigating the unknown to overcoming financial and operational hurdles, there were moments when the road felt uncertain.
But through it all, I was lifted by the incredible support of friends, clients, and my community. Their belief in my vision, passion, and craft helped me push through those tough moments. Every step of the way, my clients have been my biggest advocates, allowing me to build and grow something meaningful.
Today, I am proud of how far I’ve come and even more excited about where my journey is headed. My business continues to grow, thanks to the trust and loyalty of those around me. Together, we’ve created something beautiful—more than just a business, but a place where people can feel empowered and confident in their own skin.
We’ve been impressed with Judy Maxine PMU, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In my practice, I offer a variety of specialized services designed to enhance natural beauty and restore confidence. These include nanoblading, powder brows, lip blush tattooing, scar camouflaging, and areola restorations. Each service is customized to fit the unique needs of my clients, using advanced techniques and eco-conscious products.
One of my signature offerings is nanoblading, which is a more refined version of microblading. Nanoblading uses an ultra-fine needle to create even more precise, natural-looking hair strokes that blend seamlessly with your natural brows. It’s perfect for those looking for a softer, more defined result with less trauma to the skin compared to traditional microblading.
I’m also deeply committed to giving back to the community, especially post-cancer patients. I provide free services, including 3D areola restoration and radiation mark camouflaging, helping to restore confidence and normalcy for those who have undergone these challenging experiences.
In all of my work, I prioritize sustainability and quality. I exclusively use biodegradable, eco-friendly products, and all of my pigments are vegan, organic, and cruelty-free, ensuring that my clients not only feel beautiful but also feel good about the products used on their skin.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My clients are the heart and soul of my business. Over the past 5+ years, they have been my biggest supporters, many following me through every stage of my growth. Their loyalty, trust, and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping who I am today as an artist and business owner.
Whether they’ve been with me since the beginning or joined along the way, each client has played a vital role in my journey, and I’m forever grateful for the ongoing support that continues to fuel my passion and drive for excellence.
