Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Holmes.
Hi Caitlin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I pursued a career in nutrition out of a passion for food and healthy eating but also out of compassion for people who want to feel good in the bodies they have. My journey into this field began with a personal health scare, but what has truly fueled my career is working with individuals who want to understand how to figure out how to feel their best in their daily lives, for their favorite activities, and as they grow older. Witnessing their transformations as they discover what feels simple and sustainable has been incredibly inspiring!
When I started my private practice, my mission was simple: to help people feel good in their bodies, understand what changes to make, and improve their long-term health outcomes. I wanted to make nutrition feel approachable and easy, cutting through the noise of social media’s often unrealistic expectations. Over time, my mission has grown. I now focus not only on empowering individuals to take on their health challenges but also on integrating body image support and fostering self-efficacy. Compassion is at the heart of everything I do, and I aim to help my clients feel truly supported and capable.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If there’s a smooth road in business, I don’t know how to find it! My biggest challenge has been my mindset. I struggle with self-limiting beliefs, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome, even when I have no proof that I am failing. For me, my business was and is a growth journey disguised as a business opportunity. Despite all the bumpy, winding roads, I wouldn’t choose a smoother road. I think the chaos has helped me learn, grow, and become aware of my boundaries.
We’ve been impressed with Caitlin Holmes Nutrition, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Caitlin Holmes Nutrition is a private practice that helps people with their nutrition, lifestyle, and health by addressing foundational misunderstandings around nutrition, deeper relationships to food, and body image. I create action-oriented nutrition, meal plans, and lifestyle recommendations that meet people where they are, yet get them going in the direction they want to go. This can include gut health, women’s health, mental health, athletic performance, weight loss, and more.
Approaches to healthy living are not one-size-fits-all, and even the most well-intentioned practitioner might recommend unhelpful strategies for healthier living. My mission is to recommend habits, actions, and strategies that are tailored completely to each individual. This means that if a client doesn’t like kale, they won’t be asked to eat it! Improving your diet isn’t about overhauling your whole life and the foods you know. It’s about finding your strengths in what you’re already doing, tweaking what you could improve, and finding a balance.
But most importantly, my priority in working with people one-on-one is that they feel a strong sense of trust, collaboration, and compassion. Health struggles can feel incredibly isolating, and when you work with someone who can provide informed support, reassurance, and guidance, the process feels less stressful.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
So many things make me happy. But nothing makes me happier than to connect with people through stories, shared experiences, and laughter. We all have stories worth sharing, and we aren’t alone in our struggles. We become so powerful when we can talk about our experiences, and I love hearing how others are living and growing through their journeys. Doing all of the above over a shared meal is even better!
