One of the best things about video games is the ability to restart – you can use your learnings to move faster and avoid obstacles. We often think about what we would do differently if we were starting over in business and we figured others probably think about this as well and so we asked the community to share their thoughts with us.

If I were starting over today, I’d create Love Camp even sooner—because it’s exactly what I needed when I was dating after divorce.
After my marriage ended, I remember feeling overwhelmed. Dating in midlife felt like a completely different world, full of new rules, new fears, old habits, and a good deal of self-doubt. I craved a space where I could pause, reflect, and reconnect with who I was before marriage, divorce, and life happened. That space didn’t exist for me at the time,so I built it now. Read more>>

If I were starting over, I’d put a bigger focus on building relationships and networking right from the start. Connections can open doors way faster than trying to do everything on your own. I’d also invest in good education and hands-on training earlier instead of learning the hard way. Plus, I’d jump on social media and marketing right away to get my name out there without spending a ton on ads. And finally, I’d fine-tune my services and pricing from the beginning to make things more profitable and sustainable with less investment. Read more>>

Four years ago, I would’ve said I had no idea what I was doing nor where I was headed. Now, I know nothing happens by chance. My presence is intentional, my purpose undeniable. Every door I’ve walked through and every table I’ve sat at has taught me something—good, bad, or indifferent. The journey itself has been just as valuable as the goals I’ve crushed along the way. Actually, maybe we should all “start over” with new ideas and mindsets, even if we’re not turning back the clock. Read more>>

In the modern world, we’re in a constant race. It’s nearly impossible to pause and connect. Over a decade after launching into a career in the media world, I can honestly say that your true worth will never come down to your title, salary, case study, or place of employment. If I were starting over today, the FIRST thing I’d do? Get a mentor! Find someone in your industry whose work stops you in your tracks and see if they offer mentorship. Learning from someone who’s been there, done that will save you SO much time, money, and those late-night “am I even doing this right?” spirals. I wish I had done this sooner—it would’ve saved me from wasting money on random equipment, unnecessary software, and allll the second-guessing. Read more>>

I believe that everything happens for a reason so if I had to do it all over again then I would do it the same way.
I started my design career in architecture school where I quickly learned that architecture was not a passion for me and a future in the profession looked bleak for me. I stuttered for a second with what I should continue with in school. But in my heart, I felt that graphic design was my calling. Read more>>

I would connect with artist from the beginning. It took me a long time before I could connect with artists to learn how to progress with my career.
I should have connected with artists on Instagram and paid more attention into what other artists were doing.
Being connected always is something I still struggle with. Read more>>
