Today we’d like to introduce you to Elena Aleksandraviciute
Hi Elena, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Elena Aleksandraviciute, and I’m a Lithuanian IT graduate, photographer, happy traveler, and now a business owner living in Vancouver, Canada. Nine years ago, I moved to Canada with a dream of building something creative, and I’m proud to say I’ve made that dream come true. My business, Ellenfinds Creative Media Inc., has just celebrated four years of bringing unique visions to life. We specialize in high-end photography, content creation, and social media consulting and strategy, but what truly sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity and creativity.
When I first moved to Canada, I worked various jobs, but in the meantime, I started slowly building my Instagram account. I’ve always loved creating images that evoke a cozy, nostalgic feel—something you’d want to save in a journal, like a Polaroid of a happy memory. When I created my Ellenfinds account on Instagram, I focused on taking professional photos of products but presented them in a personal, relatable way, similar to what a blogger might share. I posted my genuine thoughts about products I loved, the restaurants I tried, and the places I explored.
But then 2020 hit, and everything changed. With more time on my hands, I decided to take a chance and joined Upwork.com. Within just three months, I realized I had a good eye for visual trends and started working as a freelance social media manager and content creator, connecting with companies not only across Canada but also in the USA and Europe. This unexpected success was the start of something truly special.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been entirely smooth along the way. One of the challenges I’ve faced is delegating tasks. It’s still something I find difficult, but I’m gradually learning how to manage it better and trust others with responsibilities.
Finding inspiration can also be a real challenge sometimes. There are days when nothing seems to spark creativity, but I’ve developed a few tricks that reliably help me overcome these dry spells and get back into a creative flow.
Another struggle has been believing in myself and resisting the urge to compare my work to that of other creators. It’s easy to get caught up in what others are doing and doubt your own path. Staying focused on my own journey and having confidence in what I’m building has been a continual effort.
Despite these struggles, I am really glad I have wonderful people in my life who are always there to share their wisdom and encourage me to keep going. I think that each challenge has taught me something valuable and helped me grow in my role.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ellenfinds Creative Media Inc. is a Social Media and Content Creation Agency based in Vancouver, Canada. We specialize in high-end photography, content creation, and social media consulting and strategy. I founded Ellenfinds in early 2020 with the vision of showcasing local small businesses, and we’ve seen tremendous growth since then, working with over 100 clients and continuing to expand our reach each month.
What sets us apart is the unique blend of creativity, youthful energy, and a fun-loving spirit that our team brings to every project. I pour my heart into everything I create, ensuring that when people hire us, they’re getting engaging and authentic content—something real and relatable, not just your typical commercial material. I love infusing my wisdom and creativity into the content for my clients, which is what inspired me to start this business in the first place. Our goal is to craft experiences that truly resonate with our clients and their audiences.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Growing up, I practically lived in Scott Kelby’s books—I read them so many times. They taught me how to be professional without getting caught up in every little technical detail about cameras. I learned how to keep it simple and still get amazing results, without having to memorize every component and function of my gear.
I’m passionate about aesthetics, and for inspiration, I often turn to Pinterest and Tumblr. I love blogging and pinning my ideas, and I’m a true enthusiast when it comes to journaling. It’s through blogging that I get to explore other people’s work and gather fresh ideas, which keeps my creativity flowing.
Of course – I use Instagram and TikTok for tips and tricks, but I also make a point to step away from those platforms sometimes. I find inspiration in other things—nature, music, and conversations. It’s a way to keep my creativity fresh and draw from a broader range of experiences.
