Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Rosario
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve had a passion for music my whole life. From very early on I knew I wanted to build a life for myself around it.
As I got older, I developed many skill sets in the industry while becoming more and more passionate about playing music to heal the world.
This all led me on a deeper path of spiritual awareness and experiencing firsthand how music could transform the mind, body, and spirit, thus I began integrating my understanding of sound with my passion for helping others.
In 2021 I launched Sound Body Initiative, and over the past several years have developed a unique approach to mindfulness that integrates music and dance with scientific wellness practices that anyone can access to improve upon their own well-being.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think I’ve struggled with most of the typical artist/entrepreneur type whoahs…. you know, dealing with Negative Nancy’s and societal pressures that come along with stepping outside the box.
I dealt with a lot of complex trauma growing up which definitely had its impact on my self-worth and how I viewed the world.
I think ultimately, overcoming myself has been my biggest challenge.
Like sure, external reality has left its imprints on me and we can all point fingers for days, but the choice of whether or not I’d allow life’s circumstances to keep me down, was definitely a challenge at times, because you subconsciously identify with your pain and rationalize how it affects your place in the world.
It sounds so cliche, but music saved my life. It gave me the strength to endure and the confidence to overcome, while simultaneously bringing me closer to God.
At this point in my life, I’ve come to realize that all of life’s struggles have really been opportunities that gave me a deeper understanding of humanity, ultimately leading me to higher purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Simply put, we use music and dance to help enhance spiritual wellness and body-mind balance.
We specialize in working with private and corporate groups to create unique programs, retreats, and special events that are centered on community connection and conscious awareness with sound and music as our anchor.
I think because of my technical background, I’m able to provide high-quality experiences that are truly immersive not just on a physical level, but on an emotional and psychological level as well, allowing the group to undergo a true transformation together.
What I love most about my offerings is that they are so easily accessible while still being fun and down to earth.
Some of our services include in-person retreats, sound and movement meditations, vibroacoustic therapy, and sound baths for weddings and sacred unions.
We’re currently working on releasing more online resources so folks can engage in our practices from wherever they’re at.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve definitely had colleagues at different stages in my career who have helped guide me professionally as well as encouragement from the people I surround myself most closely with. My husband and my family especially.
I’ve gain a lot of technical understanding from leaders in the healing arts space like Gabrielle Roth, Dr. David Snyder, and Dr. Joe Dispenza.
I would say that my biggest long-standing advocate has always been myself and my Creator.
I didn’t have a very close family or access to a lot of resources for most of my life, so I guess I really learned to rely on my own inner resources for the knowledge I was seeking.
I don’t know if I’ve ever felt taken under someone’s wing, but I do know that with divine timing, the right people have always shown up in just the right places to help along the path. I am grateful.
