We asked entrepreneurs, artists, creatives and folks from every walk of life to share stories of kindness with us because we believe that hearing about kindness inspires more kindness. Our world needs more kindness.

I have been fortunate to have many supportive and inspiring people throughout my life but one person in particular gave me the push I needed to make a big leap with my art. He encouraged me to get my art out there and helped me make an important connection. That was what began my live painting events and bolstered my confidence to work in front of a crowd. He helped me get on the path I needed to be on. Read more>>

The kindest thing someone has done for me was one of my closest friends paid for my first professional photo shoot for my Fashion line. This selfless gracious blessing came at a time when I needed it the most. As a single mother, full-time career woman, and budding entrepreneur I was trying to balance it all and at the moment it just seemed that the stars were not aligning. BUT GOD….. I am a true testament that God will move things around in your life and you will have no clue as to why but then he shows you what he was planning from the beginning and it all makes sense in the end. The kindest thing anyone has every done for me is to spare my life. I was born into a beautiful life that turned to destruction, death and no hope. In 1993, my home was attacked and I was taken prisoner along with my family. This was during the Bosnian War, similar to Ukraine today. I do not remember much of my life during that time, but I do know that the same people who captured and tortured my family and friends also had humanity amongst them to save us when it mattered the most. I am the kind of person who tries to see the best in everyone and want to believe everyone has good intentions. Some people prove me right and others can disappoint. Sometimes people show so much kindness that it blows you away. On one occasion, someone did just that. While driving home on a 6 hour road trip, a deer jumped out in front of my car, which was going nearly 60 miles an hour. There was very little time to react which ultimately left my car totaled and the deer dead. Read more>>

My mentor Bonnie Johnson paid my way through Healing Beyond Borders and through massage therapy. I was in college taking U.S. History and Philosophy at the same time and that sent me on a quest to find God. I found God within the Chakra system. During my spiritual journey I was figuring out my worth and I quit the call center job I had been working at for years. My sister got me a job cleaning houses, Angel Maids. Read more>>

I’ve had lots of experiences with kindness, so it’s tough to choose just one, but anytime someone takes the time to share their knowledge or wisdom with me, I really appreciate that because it helps accelerate my learning process, For example, I had a coworker whom now I consider friend/family because he shared his business opportunities with me and expanded my skill set and service options, just by allowing me to assist him as a 2nd shooter with his wedding videography services. This was only my fourth weekend vending at a local farmers market. Things are going alright, am I generating a buzz, sort of, am I making a ton of sales, not really. This older woman approached me and asked me how long I’ve been knitting. She complimented my pieces and told me there was such a light she could see in me. She said her mother passed away years ago and also used to knit. “If you’re going to be here next weekend, I’ll bring you something,” she said. I didn’t think much of it because people say all kinds of things to you without thinking it through. Read more>>

One of the kindest things that anyone has ever done for me was when my former employer, View Point Health in Lawrenceville Georgia, acknowledged me with my efforts in serving individuals to develop their self-directed journeys in recovery. Not only did they recognize me with the helping the clients but also, how I helped them to become a better company. It is one thing to be recognized for the service that you do for the clients, but it is another thing when you are recognized by your coworkers for helping them become better. Read more>>

The kindest thing someone has ever done for me is sharing my business to people they love. Spreading awareness to my brand means everything to me considering the fact I do everything by myself. Support gives me the warmest feeling. Read more>>

The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was name drop my business when I was (still am!) to do so! Oftentimes I am too shy to insert myself and/or my business in a conversation so as not to take the attention away from the topic or person who started the conversation. So it’s really special when a friend mentions my crafts even when I don’t ask them to. :) Read more>>

The kindest thing someone has ever done for me is turning me into an angel. I am 45, mother of 4, ages 30, 27, 17, and 15. I have been taking care of people my whole life in survival mode. In 2021, I experienced an awakening, realizing who I am; I decided, no more will I live in survival mode. The next chapter of my life I will operate in thriving mode; therefore, I walked away from my 20 year career, and embarked on an entrepreneurial path seeking to develop my talents and gifts. I am a youth development worker as well as a football, basketball, baseball coach and I currently work at the high school I coach basketball and baseball at. Last spring I had ambitions to coach football at the school I work at and was advised that I should talk to the head varsity coach to see about a role on the staff. As a former player I played against the coach at a rival high school. I met Coach Granger in person and due to the high school staff being full he counter offered me a coaching job with a youth football program that he is a program director for and I was able to coach 3rd/4th graders in football and met some amazing people and built up a network in my community.
