As a business owner it’s easy to feel like your work is never done – because no matter how much you do, there is always more that could theoretically be done. Many business owners we’ve spoken with also feel that they have a responsibility to be available to their team and that if they step away they are putting an undue burden on their team. Absolutely, I try my best to take as many vacations as I can. Even if it’s something small like attending weddings or family events. I do take a vacations in the sense that I travel, but do I completely unplug? Rarely. If I’m traveling longer than a weekend, I will take my laptop and still get a few hours of work in most days. Most definitely without a doubt! Vacations were an essential part of being a CEO! Work hard play hard! I remember once I met a CEO of several companies and this person NEVER takes a vacation ! I was appauled! Burnout is the main cause of heat attack and stroke!
