What even is a “regular” job? Semantics aside, the heart of our question is about those moments when the stress of entrepreneurship is mounting – do you ever sit back and wonder what if you had just been working for someone else, what life would have been like without all the stress?

I am so much happier as a business owner. Yes it has its ups and downs but so does a regular job. Being a business owner you can make your own hours, make your own rules, run your business how you want to. You make all the decisions on what’s best for you and your loved ones. I can rearrange my schedule when my kids are sick or when they are off from school or be available when they need to be picked up early or attend a field trip or event at their school or have lunch with my husband. The last time I had the though of having a regular job was just last week. The end of every month is very stressful for me. Read more>>

I walked into Pilates today at 7AM. Sat on my reformer and stretched. Halfway through the class I looked up and realized I was the youngest person in the room. Out of the window I saw a boy about my son’s age running into Starbucks to seemingly pick up a before school treat and his mother’s coffee. On the way home I sit patiently behind school busses and drop off lines while mentally preparing for my 9AM zoom meeting. Read more>>

As a business owner, I find fulfillment in the challenges and purpose it brings to my life and by employees, but I also face moments of doubt and reflection. The challenges of entrepreneurship are significant, but the rewards—personal growth, autonomy, and the ability to make a meaningful impact—are worth the effort, most of the time! Read more>>

I am definitely happier as a business owner. Although it comes with its own stresses and issues, I value the flexibility and independence I have as an entrepreneur and sole proprietor The last “regular job” I had was as a Communications Director in a multinational public corporation, and while I enjoyed what I did–and the regular paycheck–there was a limitation to what sorts of projects I could work on. There wasn’t much freedom in terms of my daily responsibilities, or even how I could get work done. This was way before working remotely was popular, and we were required to be in the office every day from 8 to 5–wearing heels and hose! Read more>>

Yes and no. Being a business owner gives me a sense of purpose and control that I never quite felt in a traditional 9-to-5. I get to build something that reflects my values, culture, and vision. There’s deep pride in that. But with the freedom comes a heavy load of financial pressure, mental exhaustion, and the constant need to prove myself in spaces that still don’t always expect someone like me to lead. Read more>>

Yes, we are happy as business owners—but that doesn’t mean the journey has been without its challenges. There are countless situations we’ve faced that are completely out of our control, and running a business demands an enormous amount of commitment, patience, and perseverance. Read more>>

As a business owner, I’m overflowing with joy. Reflecting on my journey, I realize that God’s plan for me was different from what I initially envisioned. In high school, I applied to retail jobs to earn extra money, but despite my efforts, it didn’t work out. Looking back, I see that it wasn’t meant to be. Meanwhile, my passion for hair grew, and I started building my client base. What I didn’t know then was that this was God’s plan all along, and it’s exceeded my wildest expectations. I’m grateful that things unfolded the way they did, as I’ve discovered my true calling in providing exceptional service, expressing myself creatively, and forming meaningful connections with my clients. Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to experience both owning a business and working a traditional 9 to 5 marketing job. I started my first business during my senior year of high school and have launched a couple more since then. While I appreciated the experience and structure of my 9 to 5, I often felt a little hopeless, unsure of where it would take me or how long it would take to grow or get promoted. It started to feel like time was being wasted, especially when I knew I had real opportunities in front of me. Owning a business has been completely different. There are no limits. The harder you work, the more progress you see. Leaving my 9 to 5 to focus on my business was the best decision I could have made for myself and my future. I have freedom to travel and work from anywhere I want. It’s truly the best thing for me. Read more>>

Yes, I’m happy. Being a business owner isn’t just about freedom or a flexible schedule — it’s about bringing my vision to life. I’ve worked regular jobs before, so I know what that feels like. But through my business, I can express who I truly am. I’m developing within the nail industry and I see great potential for Slavic manicure techniques here in the U.S. The clean, detailed, long-lasting style we’re known for in Europe is getting more and more attention. I see this not just as a service, but as a culture I want to grow. That’s why I have big plans: to expand, to build an educational academy, and to help raise professional standards. Even on hard days, I know exactly why I’m doing this — and that purpose is everything. Read more>>
