We love grabbing drinks with our entrepreneur friends because they always have the craziest stories. Sometimes it’s a big, unexpected win. Other times it’s a problem that came out of nowhere and couldn’t possibly have been foreseen. There is so much to learn from these stories and so we asked some of the brightest entrepreneurs and creatives in the community to share some of those stories below.

When It comes to my craziest story I would have to say waking up to A celebrity shouting me out on their social media platform. Waking up to Ice Cube himself reposting my artwork was everything. Then I had Lauren London herself repost a drawing of Nipsey Hussle I did as well. That moment sparked motivation and determination within me. It gave me a spark that a regular person like myself can be noticed by a celebrity. Read more>>

I started painting murals while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the remote mountains of Lesotho, Africa, when several schools approached me to help them brighten up their walls while raising awareness around the importance of education and reducing stigma for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Many of these communities did not sell the paint necessary to complete these projects. Read more>>

The craziest thing that happened to my husband/business partner and me when we were first starting our business is definitely one of the wildest things I have ever experienced. I’ve actually never talked about it publicly on paper. It was 2017, our first year officially getting hired as freelancers to shoot at Complexcon ’17. The year prior was the first year it was ever held and we attended while working for other brands. Read more>>

One of our clients was a few months into his program and had lost a considerable amount of weight. Here was feeling better moving and his stamina was better so he decided to take a trip to Europe. We were all very excited for him tat he was able to do something like this for himself. Unfortunately while traveling abroad he had a heart attack. He was treated and when he returned home his doctor told him that if he hadn’t started a program with us and lost all of the weight that the heart attack would have certainly killed him. He is fully recovered today and continues to be an inspiration to us. Read more>>

Being in business now for over 12 years, there have been countless stories that we could tell. In my eyes as long as the good stories outweigh the bad…. Puckmasters will be in good shape. The craziest thing that ever happened with my business is having a potential client completely waste my time because they were interested in more than just my services. I run a marketing agency specializing in creative and digital advertising services, and often get inquiries about my services through LinkedIn. One day, I received a message from someone who owned a belt company about wanting to learn more about my services. Read more>>

Cookies have brought me some incredible opportunities in the past year. Back in July of this year, Raleigh hosted GalaxyCon downtown. If you aren’t familiar, GalaxyCon is described as a “festival of fandom with celebrities, artists, writers, voice actors, cosplayers, entertainers, creators, etc.” My boyfriend and I are huge movie and TV fans, so it sounded like the perfect opportunity to go see some of our favorite actors. Unfortunately we didn’t secure tickets in time. Read more>>

I’m not sure if this particular story counts as my craziest story ever as a musician but it’s certainly the craziest of the last year. In the spring one of my musical acts, Megatronix was performing a show with Magic Sword and Dance With the Dead in Baltimore, and was asked to headline the Neotropilis Cyberpunk Festival in the Mojave Desert the day after. To make this possible we had to perform on both coasts in 24 hours, including a set at 11pm Pacific Time in the middle of this stunning Blade Runner styled city erected in the desert shortly after landing in LA.
