We love grabbing drinks with our entrepreneur friends because they always have the craziest stories. Sometimes it’s a big, unexpected win. Other times it’s a problem that came out of nowhere and couldn’t possibly have been foreseen. There is so much to learn from these stories and so we asked some of the brightest entrepreneurs and creatives in the community to share some of those stories below.

As you all know, the real estate market for the past couple years have been crazy with an extreme sellers’ market and buyers having difficulty getting offers accepted. My client was looking for a fresh start and needed a townhome. We searched for at least three months and put in over seventeen offers; my client was ready to throw in the towel. She said, “this will be my last showing and I’m going to take a break”. We put in a offer on this home and it was ACCEPTED!! She is now living comfortable in her townhome and her one year anniversary just passed. Read more>>

I have never told anyone this story, but this life event changed everything for me and honestly can’t thank life for it. At the time, I was living in San Francisco, California. Use to have a job downtown at a retail store and had to take the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transportation) to and from work. From concerts to portraits to second hand shooting weddings, photography as full time living was my pursuit. Read more>>

During the holiday season of 2016, I was very much happy with my as a pharmacist. In a little over a year, I had jumped from a five-figure salary to a six-figure salary, become the regional director for the corporate office, and managed to become a licensed in FOURTEEN states all while raising my one-year-old-daughter, Paris. Given the plight of our workforce during that time, I was beyond thankful to still be employed. Many companies had lost their best employees simply because they could no longer afford them, and here I was still receiving raises and bonuses. Read more>>

Typically when I receive calls it is because of a last minute booking. I answered the call and immediately they started off the conversation apologetically. They needed dancers to be apart of the Dj snoopadellic dog tour in Texas and some of the surrounding states. At the time I was working full time during the week so my mind instantly went into panic mode. The first show of the tour was that following Sunday afternoon followed by a show Monday in Waco and then Thursday in Wichita. Read more>>

My business is a ministry for me so to speak. My grandma always told me that if my hand is closed tightly, then blessings can’t flow in and blessings can’t flow out. Because of this seed she planted in me early in life, I try to give back to my community as much as I can. One year on my birthday, I decided to provide random acts of kindness including giving back to the homeless and providing complimentary meals to an elderly veteran. I took a pic with the veteran on my bday and posted on social media. A short while later, I received a message from CNN wanting to share my story. I agreed and I started receiving messages from people all over the world thanking me for my kindness. Read more>>
