Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Owens

Hi Vanessa , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

The 2 year anniversary for this platform is fast approaching. I had no idea what pumpkinveelovesyou would become! I’m still in awe. I honestly don’t know how to put in words the level of gratitude I’m feeling. It all started with a conversation about hopes, dreams, goals and my husbands encouragement. It’s been a lot of learning and unlearning if that makes any sense? Lol.
This platform is a part-time hobby, I get to be creative and I’m having so much fun. I’m only doing what I’m mentally and physically capable of but it’s been so important for myself love and body positivity journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Imposter syndrome has been a huge obstacle for me and so many others in the body positivity community. Debilitating anxiety and depression have also gotten in the way more than a care to admit. I keep going because I’m not doing this just for myself. My instabesties and local community are what keep me going. Even though I’m just being myself as fat representation I feel like I’m doing good, like I’m part of something bigger.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

On paper a lot of creatives title is influencer but I call myself a body positivity model.
Throughout the last 2 years I’ve had one or two good checks that I’m very proud of and then on the other hand I’ll be sending the invoice for $7. I’m absolutely not in this for the money and to be honest I’m not mentally capable of that it would be too much for me. Healing and community are why I’m doing this. I’m having the absolute best time and when I get overwhelmed I take breaks I’m in control and that’s really healthy for me.

What matters most to you?

My Hubby and loved ones are my everything!. Our dog Brittany is my sunshine pumpkin cuteness. Even though I have a public platform I still consider myself somewhat of a private person, that’s very important to me.

My Instagram gives me a positive purpose. I’m so grateful for community that loves me and is there for me. I hope with all my heart
my instabesties feel the same. I’m trying to put pumpkin glitter vibes out into the universe and I hope it’s working. Our lives and time are so precious and I hope I’m making a difference…
