Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Davis

Hi Andre, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

Andre J. Davis has worked as a hairstylist in the fashion and music industries for over twenty years, specializing in custom hair weaves, wigs and extensions, with expertise in women’s and men’s hair restoration. Andre was trained at the Vidal Sassoon academy and began his career at Astor Place Haircutters, renowned for the trendsetting styling of New York’s Greenwich Village.

After working at Bumble & Bumble, for the fashion and music industry, he became devoted to a private clientele relying on his expertise in hair loss acquired after losing his mother to bone cancer. He takes pride in the solutions he’s developed for alopecia, cancer, genetic thinning and balding and over processing. Andre was a lead stylist on TLC’s “A Model Life.” His work is also featured at the Academy Awards, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, WWD and Victoria’s Secret among others. Formally of Julian Farell (14 years).

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

After opening Andre Davis Studio, May 2024…I never think of challenges as I am going them. Looking back on a couple of the salons I have worked, I felt stifled supporting someone else’s dream.

I felt it took away from my creative process, but I always looked at challenges as a learning opportunity that has brought me to this moment.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I like focus on my artistry, and that’s doing hair. Although it has taken around the world and given opportunities to do other work.

At the end of the day it always comes back to hair.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?

I always like to collaborate with other great artist, colorist, make-up artist, photographers etc. I have learned a lot from many great photographers such as Fadil Berisha, Ken Gray and Robert Ascroft.
