Alright, so today we’ve got the honor to introduce you to Reagan Briggs. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Reagan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
I am incredibly grateful to have two of the greatest and most supportive parents out there. I swear, all my friends are friends with me simply due to getting to be around my parents! One thing that I appreciate about them is that they motivated me to always do what I wanted and helped guide me in whatever direction I chose. It is highly doubtful that any other parents would of taken their 3 year-old child seriously when they said they wanted to be in the real estate industry, but they did. Since that moment, they wanted to find ways to get me involved in the industry and to be included in any and all experiences surrounding it. Yes, they made me sit and sign their personal closing documents with them and be in tow for meetings with our accountant. They valued real life teachings and I am forever grateful for that mindset as I wouldn’t be where I am nor know as much as I do today without them. Another moment of them supporting me was when I decided to not attend a 4-year college and to instead, take the courses I was passionate about (think Business and Marketing) online while starting my personal business ventures. While traditionally most parents would of halted that plan, they instead embraced it and backed me in everything I launched. What is even better is that not only are they my parents, but they are also my best friends. Mom and Dad, Susan and Jack; thanks for all you have done and continue to do for me. I love you both!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly reintroduce yourself to our readers.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
For me, I’ve always seen what I do as customer service. I am here to support you and your real estate journey. I’ve found authenticity to be the most effective time strategy when growing my clientele. Staying true to myself, my values, and business ethos is what keeps me in business. I don’t like an overly “salesy” approach and all of the cheesy slogans we see too often in the industry. Real estate is a personal journey for all and showing a sense of realness has been the tried and true way to grow my clientele. By showing honesty and upholding communication to the highest degree, my clients can see that I am in this with them as this is a journey no one should try to go through alone. Even with “farming” clientele, I keep it personal. I share with prospective clients information I find valuable, support for whatever real estate chapter they are in, and a common connector between us (whether it be location-based, interest-based, etc). This is also a tried and true method we use with AZ Hockey Homes. We really highlight this strategy in that venture because hockey is our common ground. We understand each other due to that shared aspect of our lives.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My real estate career truly started when COVID-19 became a concern. Obviously, this was less than ideal timing. As someone with OCD and a love for control, I was truly in the most vulnerable position in my career possible. I had no idea what was about to happen and felt a sense of failure prior to really even starting! This involved a lot of perseverance and willingness to prevail through the chaos our world was experiencing. I pivoted a lot. I moved into a wholesale real estate chapter of my career and then followed it by a chapter in the commercial sector. Residential is a more personal, hands-on real estate market sector and with COVID-19, we needed to be as literally “hands-off” as possible. Once COVID-19 was starting to get handled with appropriate measures in place and I was able to control more of what I could personally do in the industry, I was able to move back to my true passion: residential real estate. This is where my heart lies and where I know I service my clients the best. I am proud of myself for not quitting real estate entirely and instead making it work for me during that crazy time. Now, I am happy than ever with the market sector I work in and am truly thankful for the journey that led me here!
