In our experience, talking about legacy is often subtly discouraged by society and we find this to be deeply unfortunate. Thinking about the legacy you would like to build can help you better align your work, life, time – your sweat and tears – with your values. Below, we’ve tried to create a space for folks to start conversations about they legacies they are hoping to build.

When I think of legacy I think of something that will last long after I am gone and something that I can leave to my own children. My vision is to move, encourage, and inspire people to live a healthier life. I want my legacy to help people realize that health and fitness is not one size fits all. It is a lifestyle, but more importantly, a lifestyle that works for you. Read more>>

I hope to be remembered as someone who served and loved people really well. I firmly believe in leaving people better than you find them. And in a society that tells you not to cross oceans for people who wouldn’t cross a puddle for you, I have decided to intentionally live out the opposite. I truly believe life is about what you give, not what you get. At the very core, I hope my legacy reflects a full life well lived and what it looks like to walk in freedom because of the radical love of Jesus Christ. Read more>>

I hope the legacy I am building and what people might say about me after I am gone is that I chose to follow my dreams and live by what I share with others. I hope I am remembered for my positive outlook and courage to try new things. I wish to inspire other women, especially mothers, to get out of their comfort zones in order to grow. I truly believe that if you aren’t willing to take a chance on yourself because of fear, that you will have regrets thinking about the “what if’s.” Read more>>

As an artist, I aspire to create a legacy that goes beyond aesthetics or technical skill. To create a different perspective, emotion or playfulness in each individual piece of artwork, that I hope will resonate with people in various ways. For me, art is not just a medium for self-expression but also a tool for connection and healing. I want my audience to feel seen, understood, and validated through my work. In hopes that it will leave an imprint that expresses to people that I am someone they can lean on and trust. Read more>>

When it comes to what sort of legacy I want to build and what I want people to say and remember about me when I’m gone, my answer is fairly simple and has been the same answer since I was teenager. I want people to remember me for my love, for the light I’ve shared with others, and for being a safe place to those who need it. A lot of my educational and career goals have reflected this. I pray that when the time comes to leave this world, that the generations who follow are able to look at my works and all i have built, and use it as a symbol of personal development and growth in thier own lives. The legacy I leave, is to show proof that a person can rise above thier current station in life, and achieve greatness. The legacy I leave, is freedom. No matter the chains that are placed upon us in life, with enough hope, determination and positive action, we are completely unbound. Read more>>

I hope my legacy will be a reminder to follow your true passions in life, live an authentic life for you, and that it’s not too late to re-evaluate and design the life you want to lead. I also hope that design-wise, my legacy will be to always design your home for you – not your neighbor, not your mother or best-friend, but create a space that truly reflects your uniqueness as an individual and makes you happy every day. This is a great question. I tend to believe each of us wants to have a legacy whether that is with children, a work of art, or some type of social influence which leads to lasting change. For myself, I am in the pursuit of extending the work of those who have come before me advancing the ideas of human dignity and flourishing. These are two beautiful concepts related to who we are fundamentally as human beings. Read more>>

I try to keep my art positive with uplifting messages, even when they are derived from a darker place. Legacy – Wow! Such an inspirational word! When my sister and I embarked on this journey, we wanted to write stories around social and emotional development in children. In a world where connections happen on many levels and platforms and are increasingly relevant, our hope is that these stories will encourage early introduction to shaping a childs’ understanding of empathy, compassion, and resilience, while fostering a deep connection between parents and their littles. Legacy is such a big word. With all the running around I do and the million things I juggle, it can be very frustrating at times which leads to a lot of stress. I was once asked why do I do this, why do I put myself in this position. When is enough going to be enough, what was my end goal. That made me think a lot, I had never asked myself that question. I was just operating and doing everything I can put on my plate and then some. Read more>>

The Legacy I hope to build is generated wealth something I can leave to my great niece who been my motivation helping me to over come many hardships I have endured somewhat over the years. My favorite quote ever is from Maya Angelou, and it’s three words: Teach by being.
