We recently connected with Antonio Barnes-Roberson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Antonio, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
When I first thought about the idea of starting my business, I was a bit lost, and naming is always the first thing that comes to mind because your name is really a focal point for your business. I came up with the name a.Blueprints because I strive to help my clients outline, execute, and deliver a true plan to create their digital reality. From logos to websites, my goal is always to outline a clear plan with ease to ensure my client’s needs are met by the end of the service. Hence, I consider the work I do like little blueprints outlining the path to creating your next digital brand. So, let’s connect and outline your blueprint today!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
So, my name is Antonio Roberson. I am a digital media designer from Charlotte, NC. I focused on helping small to medium-sized businesses grow their digital brand and simplified consistent marketing strategies to increase their brand awareness. I feel what sets my business apart from others is my process to put the minds of my clients first—making each project an opportunity for growth for not only me but also the client. I pride myself in creating the branding and marketing experience while giving my clients confidence in their output and allowing them to dive into the creative process to make their digital dreams a reality. I am most proud of the growth and support I received on a daily.
Throughout my business journey, I have been referred to many clients based on their reviews and appreciation for the product I provide and the timeliness and personal connection I build that makes them want to do continued work with me. It’s always a joy to have clients confirm their designer and me and trust me to help grow their brand continuously. Truly the most refreshing experience of the work I do.
I would have to say getting here was not an expected journey, but it found me. It started back in college doing some simple graphic work for some student organizations, and from there, it’s been history. Of course, you never know when talent will strike you enough that they can open up an opportunity for you to have a second income. But honestly, having an open mind and willingness to “see what happens” definitely fueled me to keep going, take classes, and ultimately fall in love with the world of digital design.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
So another side to my actual business life experience is my path with my husband Travis Barnes-Roberson co-founder of The Mimosa Way! It is one of the most cliche stories you could ever imagine….Instagram! But in a way that was so funny. I had little no idea he was trying to even pursue or get my attention in the time of our interactions because in my usual Aries nature we don’t really do well with catching clues sometimes. So from meeting on social we had our first (“unofficial”, but if you ask my husband “official”) date at Chipotle, where I had this BOGO coupon for bowls because duh everyone loves chipotle, but from there the rest is history and Now we curate philothorpfc events through networking and a few mimosas!

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
If you’re a graphic designer looking to stay on top of your game, there are a few resources that have been helpful to my personal creative journey. Design blogs and magazines can keep you in the loop on industry trends, while online design communities and forums are great for connecting with other designers and sharing your work. You might also want to check out design software tutorials to learn new techniques, or attend design conferences and events to network with other professionals. And if you’re really looking to take your skills to the next level, don’t be afraid to seek out mentorship or guidance from experienced designers in your field – their insights can be invaluable!
