Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Lyons. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittany, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I wanted something that represented how I felt about my home. I know that everyone that has ever steeped foot in Jamaica will agree that it is Paradise on earth. Paradise Child is about reviving & bringing natural youth back to your skin through botanicals and healing herb etc.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Brittany Lyons. Founder and CEO of Paradise Child. We are a skin care brand inspired by nature and we’ve infused Jamaica and the Caribbeans natural botanicals to create an unforgettable self care experience, because we believe Paradise isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling.
Our products are created with every skin type in mind. We all have skin and we should feel comfortable, but we need to know the importance of skin care and in turn self care.
The brand is a skin care but we’re also a lifestyle brand. We want to inspire and encourage a natural, healthy, positive lifestyle.
Our skin tells us a lot we just have to take the time to get to know it. So we make it fun, simple and unforgettable.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I started by business by using $1000 I had in savings at the time.
Nothing great comes from staying in your comfort zone, so I jumped out.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
I started by testing out things I made in on myself and my family members. At the time I was having a skin issue myself and nothing, and I meant nothing I was trying was working. After I began to see a difference, I emerged myself in studying about botanicals and herbs. I took a certification course in creating holistic remedies and topical products.
After trials and perfecting the product to what I wanted I started manufacturing at home to start.
I’ve learnt that once you start, and your consistent growth is inevitable so you need to do thorough research on plans for expansion.
