We were lucky to catch up with Nikki Scott recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikki, thanks for joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
The power of social media landed us our first client. BeatGangLashes had just hit 100 followers in early 2019 and had only posted a few post online. We received a DM from a large beauty spa wanting to add new products to their location. We discussed all the important details, drafted a contract and we finally got our first wholesale client.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am an Oklahoma native and founder of BeatGangLashes. A lash beauty brand that gives all eye shapes a chance to wear beautiful long wearing lashes with or without glasses. I began my career in makeup doing celebrity makeup for stars such as Cynthia Bailey, Rachel Lindsay, Claudia Jordan to start. My family and I seize the opportunity to launch my own lash and beauty vending machine in Los Angeles Malls for my clients to shop on the go, as well as placing her lashes in the number 1 beauty schools Boss Beauty Makeup Academy in Dallas and San Antonio. I provide makeup applications, lash applications, and make sure women and men feel there best when completing their makeup look. I am most proud of the support received from our brand and want clients, followers, and fans to know we design our lash styles and boxes custom for our brand. We have a custom color and hire women and men from from all different races and social backgrounds.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
In person at my own Pop up shop. BeatGanglashes puts on a pop up shop each quarter and this gives us a chance to meet so many different women and men in business and who want to start their own lash business.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Having a good personality and focusing on what the client needs and not what’s emotionally effecting you.
