As a business owner it’s easy to feel like your work is never done – because no matter how much you do, there is always more that could theoretically be done. Many business owners we’ve spoken with also feel that they have a responsibility to be available to their team and that if they step away they are putting an undue burden on their team. So, we wanted to hear from a broad range of business owners on whether they take vacations and we’ve shared some of their responses below.

I strongly believe in vacations. A chance to reset. refocus. and most of all, rest. I get a lot of ideas for my page on vacation as well. I keep it going by showing foods and business in different parts of the world. Read more>>

I think the most important thing for any business owner is to set boundaries. As a travel planner, absolutely I take vacations! And, oftentimes I’m working when I’m on vacation – taking site tours of hotels, writing frantic notes about the experiences I have on my travels so that I can better serve my clients by sharing my personal experiences with them when they are considering a trip to the same destination or on the same cruise line, etc. Read more>>

Oh yes! I love to take vacations and go somewhere I’ve never been. I enjoy photographing the sites and sharing my perspectives with others. It’s kind of like a photographic window of the world. Each team member, including me, has 25 days holiday with all the bank holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year off as well as a week off for summer break. Business does not grind to a halt, instead we thrive as we come back refreshed and ready to take on the world. Read more>>

I do. I think vacations are very important. I recently took a month long vacation from my business right before busy season started to unwind, reflect and breath. Being goal focused has recently caused me immense stress. Im always accomplishing something, expanding myself when it comes to my businesses. So vacations have taught me to rest and just be who I am, where I am without internal or external pressure. Read more>>

Yes, I absolutely take vacations! As a business owner in the travel industry, I feel its apart of your job to take vacations. If you don’t take vacations, how will you really be able to sell them, outside of going to seminars, taking online classes, reading articles, and ect? The best way to speak about the product you are selling is to experience it firsthand. I make it point to take at least one vacation a year to a destination that I either promote, sell, or want to sell. Read more>>

When I travel, I find myself immersed in a world of artistic creation. Vacations, for me, are not just moments of relaxation but essential sources of inspiration. As a fortunate photographer, I have the privilege of bringing my creativity to life wherever I go. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a group show with the (R)evolution Collective in Geneva, Switzerland. Read more>>

Our culture bases our identity off its activity (for instance we almost always begin a conversation with a question like “What do you do?” or “How are you doing?” which is immediately answered by how tired we are. We base so much of who we are by what we do. Jesus is different, He would always answer questions about Who He was with the answer “I am.” Read more>>
