We caught up with the brilliant and insightful TeAsia Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi TeAsia, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission at Shots By TeA is very simple. Affordability! I like to keep all my different packages at a low and very affordable price. I love photography so much that I’m willing to do it almost free. I want to capture beautiful timeless moments that people will cherish forever. I remember when I was in high school and I wanted a professional shoot but it was so expensive that I just couldn’t afford it and from that day on I knew I wanted to help people like me who wanted professional photos they just don’t have a professional budget.

TeAsia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi, my name is TeAsia Williams, and I am the creator and sole photographer of Shots By TeA Photography. I started Shots By TeA with an $30 Sony Cyber Shot that I got on Facebook MarketPlace. When I first started in photography, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to. I had no idea how hard and challenging it would be having my own business. All I knew is that I wanted to take pictures and be the reason people smiled. Although photography can be fun it has its challenges. Every time I turn on my camera I never know the outcome. Sometimes people love their pictures, and sometimes they don’t. But what’s a winning story without an obstacle? But through my journey, I’ve learned to take all constructive criticism to better myself for all my current clients and potential clients. One thing I want people to know is that I am very passionate about what I do!! Every photo I snap I take pride in. Every client I have booked has had nothing but great things to say about me. That’s because I take pride in every thing I do. Booking with me will be one of the best decisions you can make. I’ll make it worth your time. I can promise you that !!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

My personality is killer. I am so outgoing that I never meet strangers. I thank God for blessing me such a big personality because I can talk to anybody about anything. Not only that, but I’m always promoting myself and my business. When you book with me, you aren’t just booking a quick photoshoot you’re also booking a cheering session because the whole time I’m snapping your pictures I’m uplifting you, throwing positive energy and affirmation your way. I try and make everybody feels as comfortable and at home as possible, that way you get the best pictures. But I can’t do what I do alone. I have an AMAZING support system that’s stands behind me. Thank you to mother, Tonya and my brother, Rashad who supports me no matter what. I literally send them hundreds of pictures to get a different prospective and view points. Thank you to my dad for funding my business and buying me my dream camera. I honestly wouldn’t have gone this far without them!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Word of mouth is the best source when it comes to getting new clients. When you take good pictures and make clients happy, they will recommend you to others without you even knowing. I had a client once tell me ‘You’re being talked about in rooms you haven’t entered yet!’ This particular clients has booked me on several occasions and has brought other clients to me as well. Every time I make a post she’s one of the first to share and comment her experience and why people should book me. Her name is Daysha, and she was one of the first people to book me when I started!! Thank you Daysha you are the best! I would also like to thank any and everybody who has supported me and my business. From liking my post to sharing my post. I see and feel all the love and support, and I am forever grateful!! Big things are ahead for Shots By TeA it’s only up from here!!
